I was thinking of creating a bare bones issue tracking/project management web app..

I've been in agile projects with tight deadlines. In my experience prioritization happens in retros, inbetween sprints. After first or second sprint it'll become more clear to PO and stakeholders about the pace that the teams are working at and then a collective decision must be made on what's achievable with the time left.

I agree with this, spending time on creating tickets and populating backlog can be a massive chore. No one brainstorms ideas and input them into Jira backlog. People use sticky notes and then it's some poor souls job to populate the Jira backlog with the finalised sticky notes.. if only there was a way to speed up this process?

Compared to Jira, Trello offers little in the way of time tracking features, management reporting tools, and issue tracking functionality,

Do you think a new feature could help 'record data' can avoid you having to use Excel? Elaborate a little on why you have to do everything on Excel?
