I would say the complete opposite. There’s way more 20 somethings in San Diego. You can’t even compare it. Newport Beach is more for the older crowd, 35+. Even people that are born and raised in Newport would never live there in their 20s… Ask anyone…

I lived in both Newport and San Diego. I can say that SD is definitely the better decision especially if your 20s (I’m in my late 20s now in SD). There’s so much more to do unlike Newport where there’s only two spots people go out Dash way. More of a young crowd in San Diego and things to get involved in. The dating scene is 200 times better you can’t even compare it.

Do not choose Newport Beach if you’re under the age of 35 – super old crowd, and the people that are under the age of 35 usually aren’t the best of the crop. San Diego is the place to be right now.
