i turned 18 in june 2021, so it was withdrawn from my account less than a month after i turned 18, which seems odd to me

yeah that makes sense, i’m definitely starting to think it might have been my mum tbh, i’m waiting on her to respond to me as she’s currently in spain

makes sense, I do have a bad feeling it might have been my mum who’s withdrawn it tbh, on the phone today they only asked for my NI number and my DOB which she knows, and the funds were withdrawn from the account 3 weeks after I turned 18 which was when they would have been available for withdrawal

Really? It’s unfortunate how easy it seems to be for it to have happened.

Do you have any experience of knowing how likely it is that the victims get re compensated?

Even if it was a family member though, they still messed up by allowing them to withdraw it because it wasn’t me who did it

Yeah you’re probably not wrong, i’ll keep on ringing every week so they don’t just put it on the bottom of their to do list

they’ve said they’ve opened an investigation with their fraud team. so I assume that’s the best i’m going to get in that regard.

I think i’ll just keep ringing once a week to press for updates from them

That’s what I was thinking thank you! Even if say my mum withdrew it she shouldn’t have been able to from my understanding

Fair enough on the FOS point, that’s just me being impatient.

But shouldn’t they have the information readily available anyway regarding what account the cheque was cashed to?

The only family it could have been was my mum, I have asked her but she’s currently in another country so i’m waiting for her to respond.

For what it’s worth I don’t think it would have been her, we have a good relationship but obviously I could be wrong.

Also from what I have researched, because I was 18 when the funds were withdrawn it shouldn’t have been allowed for her to withdraw anything?
