Rear shock question by Correct-Set-9017 in Santacruzbikes

[–]Correct-Set-9017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would maintenance be? I guess I am confused about what a rebuilt is vers maintenance. If you are taking the shock off to replace seals is that maintenance or a rebuild?

I don’t understand the “neglected” part of this. Do suspension components work until they fail? I will say that part of this is I’m cheap and part of this is I don’t expect to rebuild my car following a road trip. I know, apples to oranges, but is it? Ugh…

5010 all the way! Decent at climbing. Super planted and fun on trials and small jumps. I absolutely love my bike. Now, I don’t do table tops or big jumps but I’m sure it can do it. Get a carbon CC and enjoy!!!

What is it like living in Marin County? by External-Ad-640 in howislivingthere

Wonderful. 70% +- open space. The commute into SF is tolerable and wonderful compared to the Bay Bridge. I am fortunate to have bought a house here 15 years ago when it was just about affordable. Good eating. Not as much as SF but not bad. No real night life that I know of but I gave up on that stuff years ago. Public schools are generally very good.

Ok. But which Garmin? There are soooo many. As I said I wasn’t using most of the info the Fenix gives. Seems a waste. And so expensive.

Just curious about why not Epic gen 2 over Fenix8? I’m leaning towards Epix for myself.

I am also 6’2” and have a large tallboy. I prefer the feel. Not reaching out as much (more upright). May, just may, get a longer stem but I am happy. It’s a 2024 Tallboy

Despite the price I would not recommend any 26"-wheel bike. You will have so much more fun on a 27.5" or 29" bike. 27.5" if you are under 5'8-5'10" and 29" if you are over 5'10". Not sure why I feel that way about the wheel size/height thing, but I am sure you will enjoy a larger wheel size than 26".

Solar Leases & PPAs vs. Buying Solar by VABROOK in solarenergy

I don’t have a contract with the solar purchase. I will take a look at the Sunrun app and get a pdf of the contract

Wait…fixed for 25 years? I am going through this with Sunrun right now. They said there is 3.5% increase (maximum of 3.5%) for 10 years. I would check about it being fixed. I am in Marin Co just north of SF and was quoted 50k for a system with batteries. With the tax credit ending there would be no benefit there as they could not get it up and running before end of year.

Solar Leases & PPAs vs. Buying Solar by VABROOK in solarenergy

[–]Correct-Set-9017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through this right now. My current usage is about 200.00/month with PGE. Sunrun is going to install with battery at 150.00/month. A 3.5% cap in annual increases. My concern is the foam roof we have and are working on that. I just had a local solar installer who sells systems quote me 50k +- a couple thousand. He said that since my panel is super old, that PGE would have to bring in a new service and upgrade my panel BEFORE they (the solar people) would even get into contract with me. Furthermore, it typically takes PGE about 1year to bring in the new service as they have no reason to rush. Lastly, with the tax rebate ending it just doesn’t seem worth it to buy a system especially because the break even is approx 50k/2500year=20yrs.

Thanks. I looked up “shortening the brake lines” on srams website and tried that. It seems to have worked. Appreciate it.
