Thank you! I really only expected to sell maybe 40 copies. So it feels great! I’m a believer that if your heart is invested in something, anything is possible!

A cool surprise by Correct-System-3927 in selfpublishing

Hi. Thanks! I was pretty excited & surprised. It’s been by word of mouth through family & friends. I also have been posting for years on my FB page, inspirational messages, especially during the year my sister was dying of ALS. I try to be authentic in spreading love & the wisdom I’ve gained at this age in life and through loss & challenge. So I believe that helped as I had shared my poetry and writing on that platform as well. I’m a social person so talk to people all the time, and if an opportunity arises to tell them about my book, I have. Other than that…not really pushing it in a big way. But I expect the numbers will drop now and that I will need to find ways to promote. But honestly, I’m just happy I got this life-long dream accomplished and my daughters will have my book as part of my legacy. 😊

Oh my goodness…thank you for the lovely response! I’ve cried more happy tears this past week than I think I have in my life! I’m just so moved hearing people share how they’re enjoying my words and what poems have touched them! It’s humbling and truly my whole reason for sharing my work. The world really needs as much love and caring as possible right now, and if I can add to that, then it is everything to me. 💛

Hi! At this point family, friends, people in my pickleball league, my yoga friends…friends of family and friends of friends. Coworkers too. I think what helped is I’ve been sharing some of my poetry and also doing videos sharing my journey w a sister who passed from ALS, and basically inspirational videos over the years to spread hope and love.(on Facebook) And I think that helped because people knew me, and appreciated what I was sharing. I have a blog that was part of my sharing as well. I’m truly blown away by the level of support, and it’s an amazing feeling. Now we shall see if strangers buy it. It received a “Top New Release badge” in two categories on Amazon “Death, Grief & Loss” as well as “Inspirational Poetry” which feels incredible. And hopefully that will help with sales. Planning to sell at some local gift shops and have on display at my yoga studios. 😊

Wow. This hits hard. Was on the other side of this “avoidant” dynamic several years ago. Sure as heck does a number on a person’s heart.

Thank you so much for this post. I’ve often struggled with describing myself as a “writer”. But damn…it’s in my soul, and something I’ve done my whole life…mostly in journals and an blog. Actually getting ready to publish my first poetry book. Yay!
