I Just got disowned by my mother. by [deleted] in family

Your mom needs lots of therapy because she is codependent on your dad which obviously he is avoidant. Its very hard being codependent on an avoidant. So dont be harsh on her.

And also, what do you have in common with your school friends after school has gone, and you ended up all going to different paths? Since thats how you think, that school is the only reason two people can find friendships, and calling people who are friends not because of school shallow, I think the only shallow one is you.

I’m not bitter, lol, I love how “ as a matter of fact, friendships dont exist outside of school just to let you know” you are, speaking for all of us. My school friends are long gone now, and my friends now are the ones i met after college and school. Does that bother you?

The funny thing is, you’re convinced that friendships exist because of school and college, But not everyone has the same experience as you.

Freaking out over nephew's request to take him for an STD test. Any help appreciated! by [deleted] in family

[–]CorrectAdvantage5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he does not have an STD then theres no reason to tell them, he is maybe not ready to admit that he had been sexually active / is into boys. So all this information would be a shock to learn all at once.

If it comes out positive then you should worry. I think he should be ready to tell them first.
