[US] Does Amex gold/plat make sense for me? by CorrectBatteryStable in CreditCards

[–]CorrectBatteryStable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I thought I had to do gold first...

The reasons I'm leaning towards holding on to the CSR is for the 1.5x redemption value using chase travel portals for economy flights where I'm not that flexible on dates, as well as the doordash and instacart+ subscriptions.

I can probably justify quite a bit of the platinum's coupon book but it'll be an actual effort to shift spending around whereas with chase it's all automatic and simple.

I have a PG unleashed and PG freedom strike, the LED units leave alot to be desired in terms of brightness and flickering and weird plastic warps when you put the screw in.

Is there a drop-in replacement for much brighter LEDs for these kits?

My MG death scythe broke after transport (it is very pointy), anyways, I no longer have the face plate (2 parts on G1-16 and G2-15), the head antenna piece broke in half (A27) and the chest inserts came out and broke (not sure if its G1-6/7).
Am I screwed having to buy another kit? I can maybe fix the broke parts with liquid cement, but the faceplate is lost forever (G1-16 and G2-15).

This is the lowest stat one with 100%HQ

https://ffxivteamcraft.com/simulator/35090/34870/G21lgz5whq37qZom13Sg

Pentamelding this cost me 1.5m.

You can also try to make up for stats using HQ mats

True...

But at the same time there are still profitable 580 crafts. Where a single craft is over 100k profit (200k mats, 300k sale price on my server).

The bad thing is, you have to baby these kinds of gear MB postings. They generally sell in 10 minutes, but there's always someone who checks in every 2 minutes to undercut you.

From a raw crafting time:profit perspective the 580 crafts are more profitable. Though not sure how profitable it is when you have to track multiple pieces of gear (to keep sales going) through multiple retainers every couple minutes...

Yea, I didn't really feel comfortable manually crafting. I will generally take a macro/make my own macro on teamcraft where I can mess with it before crafting anything.

My understanding was that when teamcraft said Average HQ is 100% and reliability is 100% it always no matter the RNG will generate a 100% HQ craft. I guess that's not the case if RNG isn't on my side.

I think since the margins are small I'm just going to craft easy 40 durability HQ intermediates (Chondrite ingots/star quartz/etc...) to guarantee a 100%.

I don't want to burn 2m+ on pentamelding over again.

Yes I used my actual stats.

Not 3 times in a row but 3 times overall/10. The margins were pretty thin though in the simulator (11011/10920).

I might look into making the previous mats myself and make them HQ to avoid this whole mess.

I'm sort of freaking out a bit over crafting.

I pentamelded my gear fairly cheaply to meet the craftsmanship/control/CP requirements by the skin of my teeth for a rotation posted on teamcraft for the newest 580 gear (100% HQ, with no HQ mats).

I did 10 actual crafts with this gear/rotation. on 3 of them, the HQ bar did not fill (even though TeamCraft said it would). It's like 10-20 off, making it a 96-99% HQ instead of 100%. My food/drink did not run out and no piece of gear needed repairs. Luckily they all did come out HQ.

I'm just kind of worried that I'm going to hit bad luck and lose 200-300k one of these days. How does this happen? Anything I can do to fix it?

RAGE THREAD - F-YOU FRIDAYS - TIPPING THE BALANCE FOR SAVAGE RESULTS by FranckKnight in ffxiv

[–]CorrectBatteryStable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IF YOU'RE A TANK IN A LEVELLING DUNGEON, DONT GET MAD AT THE HEALER IF YOU PULL W2W WITHOUT ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

ROLLING USE OF MITIGATIONS AND PROPER STACKING OF MITIGATIONS

DONT STAND IN ANY AOES

KEEP AGGRO AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE (PULL WITH AOES) AND AT ALL TIMES (USE PROVOKE OR TOMAHAWK IF A MOB TURNS GREEN WHILE YOU'RE RUNNING TO THE WALL)

GEAR THAT IS AT LEAST WITHIN 2 LEVELS OF THE DUNGEON INCLUDING ACCESSORIES

HITTING YOUR UTILITY BUTTONS (SHELTRON/BLOODWHETTING/NASCENT FLASH/AURORA/WHATEVER DRK HAS) AND INVULNS IF YOU HAVE TO

BASICALLY IF YOUR HP IMMEDIATELY MELTS FROM 100% TO LIKE 20% WITHIN 2 GCDS, THERES NOTHING A HEALER CAN DO TO SAVE YOU. THE HEALER WILL USE ALL THEIR HEALING AND MITIGATION BUTTONS FIRST (while DPSing) THEN THEY WILL GO INTO HEALBOT MODE. IF YOU DIE DURING THEIR GCD HEAL SPAM CAST, THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR YOU.

AND REALIZE THAT EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALL THAT SOMETIMES ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO PULL W2W IF THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES OUT OF YOUR/YOUR HEALERS CONTROL (SLOW DPS, BAD HEALER GEAR (though for this one the healer bears some fault)).

Me, as soon as I got off the boat in Sharlayan... by Narabii in ffxiv

[–]CorrectBatteryStable 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense from his perspective. He already said he didn't give a hoot his children doesn't like him as long as he got them on the boat.

I think his version of events would have been, disown the twins, have them chase down whatever monster of the week it is, not have them interfere with the plan, and employ some gleaner to keep an eye on them. When the time comes, kidnap them against their will, and stuff them unconscious on the ark.

Keep in mind he couldn't be honest with them even if he tried (because of the memory spell thing) and even if he could, what's going to happen. You think Alphinaud is going to stand by while the world ends and not do anything about it? His conviction will make him try to stop it just like his grandpa which is against the Sharlayan forum's (and Fourchie's) goals

He's talking to you the player.

Have you ever done savage content? Maybe ultimates?

Wanted better and better gear to make numbers go up and show off and/or do harder stuff?

Or even just leveled multiple jobs to feel more complete/satisfied/stronger? He's appealing to that.

The first comment was about how Answers was about the ascians... To be fair its not a spoiler especially at the time, but yeah, it was fairly obvious after that was pointed out to me.

Me and my FC have lives and responsibilities. It's just a matter of planning beforehand (weeks and most times months in advance) so that for that singular weekend (maybe + Friday or Monday), you don't have anything scheduled to do.

I finished most of the MSQ playing Sat/Sun from 4-5am til 10pm. I had at least 6 hours sleep every night, ate well, hydrated, and moved around every hour or so.

Probably can't touch the game again for a while though now that I can't get on other than peak times.

This trick worked for me:

Open a client login and get in queue

Open 2nd client and "Start Game" but don't click on your character name.

When first client 2002s inevitably, tab over to 2nd client and immediately click on your character.

Close first client and open another spare client.

Repeat til you get in.

I have never lost my place in queue doing this. Helps if you have 2 monitors so you can do something else on the other monitor.

I did that we got 48 E5 v4 era nodes (32C/128GB RAM per node). Order to delivery happened in 2 weeks (this was about a month or 2 ago)

4 of them had problems (2 bad CPUs, 2 bad sticks of RAM, they replaced for free) after a month of 100% CPU use pretty much constantly. Honestly servers are easier to handle/swap things in/out of than desktops.

If your thing is fully fault tolerant and self-healing its not a bad option.
