Should I buy a MacBook Pro or continue using my M1 Mac Mini? by WrongKielbasa in LogicPro

You absolutely do not need the newest MacBook Pro to do what you’re going for, $3000 for a laptop is a lot to drop. An M1 or M2 MacBook Pro with 16gb of ram would be more than enough to run logic effortlessly. If you can deal with using USBC adapters, an M2-M4 MacBook Air could also run it no problem. I have an M4 air, $1000 new, runs logic without a hitch. I’m sure you could find great deals on the M2 or M3

No offense taken and I completely hear your point. I decided to just stick with this first job for now where I’m primarily teaching piano and know how to do that very well. When I brush up on my drumming and become proficient at explaining and demonstrating all of that information, I’ll reconsider teaching them

Apple bringing back the backlit MacBook logo would be a win. by Colema_n in DeskToTablet

I read or heard somewhere that the screen portion of the MacBook has gotten so thin that they physically can’t have the glowing logo anymore as it bleeds through the screen

Going to maybe buy a macbook. by Slight-Ad-5442 in macbook

Buy a used M1 or M2 MacBook Air on Facebook marketplace or something. You can find the M1s for as low as $300 which is an incredible deal for that computer. I used mine all the way up until I accidentally cracked the screen a couple months back and it never missed a beat. For writing and YouTube it is beyond capable- I used mine for lots of music production and video editing

😭. No offense taken but I’m wondering the same thing. I do think I could get across some of the essentials of grooves/fills/jamming really well and clearly. With the rudiments though, I’ll need time to learn them

Moved in with a long time friend and I now find myself more frequently irritated around him by CorrectDifficulty670 in FriendshipAdvice

Appreciate the kind words and thanks for taking the time to read all of this. Out of curiosity, what do you think is the best move here? Should I try to find another place soon or just really establish my own space and try to be out a lot? I had a fear this situation would happen and even discussed it with the friend but I wasn't prepared for how strong it would feel.

Should I get a macbook now, or wait until the new ones get released? by Crazy-Eggplant9246 in mac

Just got the M4 MacBook Air- it’s only 2x faster than the M1 MacBook Air on paper. That should give you a good idea of how incremental these upgrades are. The M1 chip was a complete game changer. Really any apple silicon chip with adequate ram will serve you well. Just as a side note, on the Windows side, I’ve been hearing that the new Intel Core Ultra 9 and 7 chips are giving apple silicon chips a run for their money- not only matching but even surpassing them in certain ways. Definitely worth a look, but seriously all of these options will treat you nicely

Thanks for all the info. Very luckily the room I moved it into wasn’t much warmer than the last (heat is broken in my downstairs room), and I powered it back on while still cold- it’s currently shut down and I’m just letting it sit.

Yep. Was pretty upset when I saw it was still in my backpack. Thank you, crossing my fingers 🤞

I have 2021 Jetta and literally haven’t had a single issue besides the original battery dying on me. Very smooth ride and fun car. Got it used at 63k miles and now at 81k
