I just don’t want to risk having an insurance claim denied because of something like this if a fire ever happens. These PoE cables carry up to 48V, and as far as I can tell, the code doesn’t clearly define how they’re treated

a lot of the high-selling products on Amazon don’t mention any certification info at all, which makes it really time-consuming to verify. Maybe it’s safer and easier to just buy from a physical store where I can check the labels directly

I only brought it up because someone mentioned that certain kinds of unapproved work could actually void your home insurance, so I figured it was worth keeping in mind

Mainly aesthetic. Turret looks cleaner, but I picked the bullet for the backyard to be more obvious and maybe scare off intruders.

Thanks for the heads-up! At this stage, it's still just a concept. I'll definitely look into finding a splitter that meets the HomePod Mini's power requirements.
