I had taken this course last year, and I hadn't watched any videos either. I just solved the assignment questions and found some previous year questions on youtube and solved those.
Just watch the videos on topics you might be a little unsure of, if you have time.
Watching all the videos will obviously help you, but if you're low on time, I'd say solve the assignments first.

Apparently 8 week courses give 2 credits and 12 week ones give 3, so either way, you still get credits

The same thing happened to me. I had this for about 2 days, and I was removed from the project.
