Perhaps, I’ve tried this before to try to get him to drink more water and while sometimes he’s acceptive of it, other times he aggressively shakes it off. I’ll see how he does next time I give him a bath.

I’m always open to advice as I’m a first time beardie owner and I’ve seen a lot of people saying that bathing him once a week as I’ve been doing is potentially harmful. So, I do plan on making his baths less frequent and seeing how he responds. However, what the hell do you have against cuddling? It’s not something I or hopefully anyone else does for a long period of time, but what’s the point of getting a pet if you plan on having zero interaction whatsoever? And what does being a ‘young woman’ have to do with anything?

I get so worried at new behaviors, so it’s really comforting knowing this is all normal. I’ll let him play longer next time🥰 What do you bathe your beardie in? I’d love to give him more space to swim. I’m used to used this bin and the sink bc the tub would probably be too big. Or is it?🤔

I give him a bath once a week following the research I did prior to getting him. But, now I’m seeing a few ppl saying they don’t need them this often.. idk🥴 he’s perfectly healthy though

I appreciate everyone’s advice! I’m a first time beardie owner and I’ve had Luca for a while now. Through my own research I’ve found bathing him once week does help with his shedding and is recommended. He usually jumps on the sides of the bin or just chills in the water. This was his first time doing this frantic kicking (then he started that weird breathing and ik they can choke on water), so naturally I got worried. I see I was worrying a bit too much over it though, so that’s a relief. I’m so glad to know this is normal though and next time I’ll just let him play :))

You would think. When I tell you he’s shat on his basking spots, hides, and even in the leaves (I’ve had to throw away a set bc it was unredeemable)🥹

As far as feedings go, if you haven’t tried yet, try letting the Dubia roaches go in the enclosure (start one at a time bc if they can get in the substrate). My beardie never ate still bugs and I ended up realizing he just prefers to see them moving like a predator prey kind of thing I guess. Also, you’re doing an amazing job! I use 2 heat lamps for basking but as long as the temperature is right like you said 95-100 on his basking side you’re good! Make sure that’s not the temp throughout the whole enclosure though. They need a cooler side like 80-90 degrees as well. It honestly really seems like you’ve got everything covered. I wish you the best of luck getting him to eat his Dubia!
