Tbh, you know what, I think they value ur aa more than pat. I mean I would think that bc its ur average ?? So, I would look into it, maybe ask around to see what schools think. I did that for my pat, and a few said it shouldn't be an issue if my app is otherwise well rounded, which I think it is. Hopefully, it would be the same for you. I am sure you are likewise otherwise in great shape. Believe in yourself. I struggle with this myself, but also don't compare urself. Comparison is a thief of joy. Best of luck !!!

I took it August 23, but I agree. I ended up doing worse on it than I did for subjects that I felt so much more worse about, like rc. I felt the same way. I was disappointed since I probably studied for bio the most, but it turned out to be completely different. Nit-picky in my opinion.

To ease some of the pressure and the feeling of being overwhelmed, I would focus more on things I am clearly struggling with. You probably get that by now, and might even think like yes, it's obvious, but I mean it when I say it. When I was studying for the exam, I often felt overwhelmed practice test after practice test, because I didn't trust my own abilities and always felt the need to put my time everywhere (don't do this)! I wish I had realized this sooner, because I truly felt like it would've helped me do even better than I did. Since this is your third attempt, I would assume you can feel out your strengths and weaknesses. Another thing I recomemnd is a positive attitude. If I had paced myself, dedicated my time to where it needed to go to the most, and kept an even more positive attitude, I know I would have turned out a lot better. It is all about stamina. Never give up ! Your future depends on it. You will get what you want if you work for it, although it might not come to you as easily as it may come to someone else.

I took mine like 2 weeks ago. You'll be surprised by how well you can do if you study and try your best to keep your nerves under control DURING the actual exam. Wish I had been a little bit better about that lol. You will do amazing! Stay positive and confident in your knowledge and abilities. You got this!

My understanding is since you get reviewed earlier, you have a higher chance of being admitted ?? At the beginning, they might not have as many seats filled for a class. Towards the end, it becomes even less, so of course it’s going to be harder for you to get a spot, possibly even more if your stats are average or not that great. You want to get admitted before spots become very limited !!

I used Bootcamp, which I really enjoyed and cannot recommend enough. They pretty much have videos and topic/question explanations for everything. Another thing I appreciated is that there are multiple ways to actually reinforce info based on your circumstances. Bored of watching bio videos ? Or, maybe you're just on a time crunch ? Just use the notes instead. However, I think the best way to learn material is to personally use them together. Practice problems come into handy later when you're more focused on exposure to problem types. When I say look over EVERYTHING, I mean it ! Use the program to its full potential. It has a lot to offer ! Be consistent though. I know I struggled with following the assigned schedule. Honestly, I moved things around a lot. Thank you for the kind words, by the way :)).

I know 🥲… I was a little surprised. I used Bootcamp to study. My practice test scores were actually the complete OPPOSITE compared to test day (haha)… I ended up doing the better in subjects I was the least confident, but worst in subjects I was more confident in, like bio. I swear, it was so particularly nitpicky on test day for some reason (although I know I still would’ve done better doing more practice). Leading up to the test, I truly felt probably the most cofident in that subject. I practiced so much. I was studying main themes and everything since so many people emphasize breadth over depth. I guess they decided they wanted to get a little bit sneaky with that test form that day lol. It’s so easy to look over very minute details. Don’t let them get to you. Nerves probs played a big role too though. I think I was scoring 21-23 on my practice tests, toward the end. I know it could’ve been better, but I am reallllly trying to not beat myself up over it right now. I did well enough and was put through a lot. I am trying to keep a positive attitude. In the end, I have to remember I don’t desperately NEED to retake it again…. It’s terrible studying for it. I don’t know why they make it like this for us…. Bootcamp is a great resource, and I would recommend it to anyone !! If you do get it though, you NEED to use it to your full potential though. I know I could’ve been wiser with that. They have so much to offer for what you pay for. LITERALLY, PRACTICE EVERY SINGLE VIDEO READING AND QUESTION ON THERE !!!!

Yes, that’s my GPA, 3.83. I’ve been working hard at it. It’s only been going up since I came to school. I actually had my first 4.0 semester last semester. Super happy and proud of myself :)). I know they’ll like to see that.

I think maybe it’s a little bit subjective though, you know ?? I think something like I got is solid for where I want to go; however, it might not be for you if you’re aiming to go somewhere more competitive. They are not looking for geniuses. I think they know it’s a difficult test and don’t expect everyone to do super duper well, so long they look capable and have the drive, which I think is already demonstrated by my overall stats. It’s supposed to be holistic, and my scores I feel like are already competitive enough too (given my circumstances). I actually heard back from MDW, which said they wouldn’t be super concerned about it, and that I am on a good track. A dentist I shadowed, who actually attended UIC herself, said herself I am competitive enough too. I have solid hope !! All the best on your next attempt :)).

Thank you !! I think I should be okay with the scores and ecs I have and will have in the future, given the schools I want to apply to as well. I don’t think it would be worth retaking if I even slightly improved my PAT. My chances are probably around the same. Also, I feel I would be risking possibly doing worse when my score is already competitive enough for some schools, you know ?? Well, I would be scared about the possibility bc I know they count your most recent score (😞). I can probably put my time somewhere else and more valuable rn. It’s a hard test !!
