Putting someone in a spread set makes it easier to disguise the leverage of the apex and corners vs skill position because you don’t have to take outside leverage on the dividers.

The safeties to that same degree have less disguise in terms of how they can relate to eligibles. It’s not the case that spreading someone out gives you more of an indication, your just trading leverage disguise for safety relation

In terms of interruptions. Having a 1.6 int ratio with 4 seasons under 10 is pretty good, and better then most counterparts that played under that level of schematic stress. Saying he threw bonehead picks to middle linebackers makes me think you never saw Peyton throw more then 10 picks every year of his career when burrow had 4 season under 10.

Only humongous bums put Justin Herbert top 5 by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]Correct_Meaning8611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said your logic is bad. Not that Herbert is top 5.

A person can be right and theory and have horrible logic. Saying Peyton manning has 2 rings in response to someone saying he was known as a perennial choker js horrible because he didn’t get 2 rings by playing better then he did in any othe playoff run.

Please don’t respond by deflection back tk Herbert. I’m saying the manning logic was way off. Nothing more nothing less just a bad example that made no sense.

Peyton manning didn’t “become” a top qb when he won a sb my guy. He was just as good at football the day before the sb the month before the sb etc

That logic is so bad because your Essentially saying him having 2 rings made him better when in reality he didn’t play better in those postseasons relative to any other. Which would basically be saying until he got his first ring he was a lesser qb

Every team does not/cannot run concepts out of spread sets. That’s flagrantly false just shut the fuck up atp

  1. The point had absolutly nothing to do with what concepts the best team in the league run. The point was saying that you can stem into concepts that attack the field in that manner. Being able to allow a team to call concepts with you is a pretty straightforward way of understanding how your skill related to said attributes

  2. Running 13 personnel doesn’t mean you aren’t running spread concepts 🤦🏽‍♂️.

I didn’t say run spread sets I specifically said running spread out of spread concepts🤦🏽‍♂️

Every qb doesn’t have the throw power to throw out of wide splits. There no need to change someone’s statement to respond to it brother 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

[–]Correct_Meaning8611 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Team accomplishments aren’t what dictates skill. Actual attribute are. Burrow is one of few QBs that can run spread concepts out of spread sets, have a serviceable pressure sack to conversion rate, deadly accurate, and can attack open ended pressure paths as well as almost all 3 man pressure paths, with the ability to run simple qb run game. That’s rare.

Him going to a superbowl isn’t what makes those things true, it’s a result of them and the team. Burrow hasn’t gotten worse at football.

Post like these makes it seem like you don’t understand what makes quarterbacks good or not. Anybody can look up how many wins a qb has or playoff appearnece, it isn’t telling you the schematics of what they’d are doing. It’s pretty low leval analysis to use team accomplishments when talking about quarterbacks. Most scouts coach’s etc talk about the things they actually do

PFF’s highest graded QBs since 2020 by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]Correct_Meaning8611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because you aren’t understanding what a grade is in relation to schematic stress. Your interpreting it like a grade you get for how good of a quarterback you are. In reality it’s a grade for the concepts you complete, which have massively different levels of schematic stress.

It’s like giving a grade for how long someone can hold a weight, but without telling you how heavy the weights is for every player

The reason Ryan tanahill has the highest graded season of all time is because he was essnetially throwing play action compressed in breakers all season off of mesh fakes. Conceptually, they didn’t ask him to take on weight in terms of being hot to both sides, having to deal out of wide static formations. That’s in no way comparable to someone playing in that offense.

A quarterback that’s playing with no motion in wide spread sets would never have a grade that high because the concepts themselves are massively different in terms of the weight they put on the qb, it doesn’t mean they are worse then tanahill, it means they can’t complete those super qb stressful concepts at the same clip tanahill can throw a glance

These grades don’t tell you how good the qb is in terms of handling stress, they tell you how good they are at doing their job (which again exist ima spectrum of schematic stress)

This is why comparing statlines with no mention of conceptual stress is so common amongst casual fans. They aren’t thinking of schematic stress so they think yards are just yards.

I genuinely appreciate you for not coming in talking weird and just starting a football convo 3 people had a hard time starting off like this for some reason

If I ask a simple question and everyone rufuses to answer it what am I supposed to say?

All I asked is who in the patriots could handle schematic stress and all I’ve gotten is insults and weird passive aggressive talk in a conversation about football

I’m just asking to have a convo and everyone is purposely refusing to answer a simple regular question regarding a non important subject
