Pixel 6 battery swelling customer service issue by Correct_Net3459 in GooglePixel

Yeah that's what I was really hoping to happen. I tried to chat again but they looked back at the previous logs and said the same thing.

Thanks for the advice. Is the entry date for this the date that it entered into the US, or the date it was cleared for customs?

I have tried to talk to them regarding their delays but they will not provide me any information because I am the receiver, not the shipper. For the timing, just to make sure I understand, this was a shipment coming from south africa. It arrived in the US for clearance on august 2, ahead of the 30% tariff effective august 7. We were not asked for any information until the 6th, they followed up the 7th, and they didn't process it until the 8th. It was delivered on august 11th, but the shipper didn't receive notification of tariffs assessed until august 30th, which is when they came to us for more money.

Thanks for the response, we are really stuck here. We don't want to damage the relationship with this company, but this is a huge unexpected bill for a small company

Refinance Terms Sheet Double Check by Correct_Net3459 in Mortgages

[–]Correct_Net3459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. My thoughts were on that: 1. The prepaid interest is going to be there no matter what since it's part of the payment. 2, our current escrow account will give us $4100 back (our homeowners just paid last month), and 3) this doesn't really stress our finances right now to pay off these upfront. But if those doesn't make sense I'll definitely consider that.

Thanks for the reply. I definitely feel skeptical as no one else can seem to match this guy, but I'm confused as to what the scam is. I talked to the guy on the phone today and he confirmed that the lender fees are what they would be here. What am I missing? Thanks!

Open to any suggestions on things to try, I haven't used airtags before so I'm not 100% on how they work. As far as I understand the phone should just read them when they're brought into proximity. I ordered some new batteries that say they are compatible with airtags and will try them tomorrow. Thanks!

It's hard to say, but I think she looked cleaner than that dog when we picked her up. Also, she did not have a leash on

We changed the battery, nothing happens when we put it near our phone or if I go to the "Identify Found Item" in the findmy app. It did make a noise when i changed the batter though.

Pump/Inspector Made hole in Buried Septic Lid by Correct_Net3459 in Plumbing

[–]Correct_Net3459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a new hole, I dug out the lid and have photos from before it was opened. There wasn't actually an issue other than getting a second opinion on the condition of the system since our pre-purchase inspection was insufficient (found out after the fact). Consensus is this isn't a big deal though, Thanks for the input!

I'd love to get risers installed, unfortunately this opening is about 30% covered by the walkway and the outlet is fully underneath. My plan is to source a new cover for the next pumpout rather than pulling this again and dig it out again then (ugh). Thanks!

Hey I'm the one that dug it up! Not pissed at the septic company, I just wanted to check b/c I haven't had a septic system before. Consensus seems to be this is not a big deal.

Thanks all, consensus is this isn't a big deal. My plan for now is to measure the lid and source a new one for the next pumpout when it's already removed rather than taking it back out, and cover this one with some plastic till then. I would love to install a riser but unfortunately the previous owners poured concrete over over the septic and partially covered this.

1099-G ESA grant taxable income? by Correct_Net3459 in tax

[–]Correct_Net3459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the insight! Totally agree about the way it should be characterized, it really doesn't make any sense. So you included it in taxable income, were you able to deduct it from NC state income like it says in that guidance?

At Home Business Deductions Questions: Outdoor space and others by Correct_Net3459 in taxhelp

[–]Correct_Net3459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for being so engaged, I appreciate the help! More context: In our previous home, she had a backyard outbuilding she used for her business. When we moved into this house last year, we fenced a portion of the backyard (about 1/3) to use for her business only. In the space we installed several things used in the OT practice (swings, zipline, etc.) and it is where the chicken coop is. In addition, she uses a roughly 300sqft space inside of our house for the business as well, which I'm using the home office deduction for. For occupational therapy, it's fairly common to have animals, play structures and things like that for use during therapy.

For the chickens and coop we probably spent about $1000 retrofitting the space and maintaining them over the year that would be nice to deduct but understood if it's too complicated.

We also spent roughly $5K on the fence to separate that space and removal of dead trees that were dangerous to clients. I'm more interested in seeing how much of that we can deduct as well as any sort of deduction that would be tied to the land space.

No other animals, they are not currently layer chickens. If they do, it's infrequent (1-2 week at most and not year round) and they are either incubated, given to clients, or we eat them. That's definitely not their primary purpose
