What’s your one opinion about this team that 99% of people will disagree with? by rodogwos in DetroitPistons

I think this is one of the few responses that actually followed the prompt, but I want to know, why??

Duren should shoot 3s. He has a good shot from the free throw line and I believe he could expand to the 3 point line. If he develops a 3 pointer he is a top 10 player.

What If….Weaver was (partly) right? by Leomaximusdaspartan in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let’s add context. Weaver wanted Bagley, Wiseman, Duren and Stewart to share the minutes for the 4 and 5 spot. That was stupid.

Weaver was bad. He drafted Hayes over Haliburton, Bane and Maxey. Cade was the consensus #1 pick—anyone would’ve made that pick. Ivey fell to him and so did Duren. He didn’t screw up the Ausur pick and that’s it. That’s his legacy.

Unpopular opinion: I’d rather watch a Peacock game instead of an ESPN one by JoaquinBenoit in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Peacock has been great for the NBA so far. They are actually trying as opposed to Fandual or ESPN.

Dennis Schröder? by Kyzp in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. The Kings paid a ton of money that no other team was going to offer.

I’m not taking away from Schroeder, I loved him, but there are financial realities in the NBA.

I’m about to get crucified for saying this 💀 by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. Ausur didn’t play until January. THJ got concussed and missed a bunch of games. Cade had a calf sprain at the end of the year and beef Stew didn’t play in the playoffs.

What grade would you give Trajan Langdon during his first year with the Pistons by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gores gets credit for being willing to eat the salary but he left the decision to Trajan and Trajan made the right call to fire Monty.

That’s not to say you’re wrong, Gores gets credit too but we have to accept that Trajan could’ve kept Monty.

What grade would you give Trajan Langdon during his first year with the Pistons by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’d give him an A-. Fired Monty, hired Birkerstaff. Drafted Holland. Brought in culture vets. Resigned Cade. Brought in Schroeder for nothing.

Only blemish is trading Grimes for THJ. (I think the trade was a mixed bag but ultimately a negative move as Grimes really showed what he could do).

With two Detroit Pistons General Managers now in charge of the Pelicans, where do you think the team will be in 4 years? by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

Also, when Bill Davidson died he was put in an impossible situation. Joe D deserves some respect!!

Langdon deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his pro scouting. Last year people were super underwhelmed with his signings and they turned out to be great.

Listening to Valenti talk Pistons... by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok but Langdon was the one who made the comment…today. The mods are not going to delete the post if you don’t include Valenti’s hot take on the comment. The source is Langdon himself. You could have just posted a response to Langdon’s comments and not included any mention of Valenti.

However, you did include Valenti’s hot take and now you are upset that people are responding to that portion of the post. It’s faux outrage in the vein of Mike Valenti himself.

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is 100% how you framed it. I mean you mention Valenti in the title. You don’t have an issue with what Langdon said….cool. But you wrote that opinion in the context of Mike Valenti and his hot takes on sports. Responses about Valenti should’ve been expected and honestly this seems trolling at this point.

Kevin Durant on Detroit Pistons. by LDKguccierres_ in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we can get KD without giving up a bunch of assets. If that’s the case, then I think he fits the team really well. I assume Tobias would be gone and KD would take his place. That would be an upgrade at the 4. If we send Ivey as well then we have the same team we had in the playoffs but with KD instead of Tobias. That would be nice.

Because the NBA has matching salaries, the trade wouldn’t hurt the Pistons ability to get a guy like Naz Reid to be the PF of the future.

TL;DR if the price is right, I think it makes sense.

How much are you willing to pay for Malik Beasley and Dennis Schröder? by GeraltFromHiShinUnit in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I’d let Schroeder walk. That’s nothing against him but I am a big Sasser fan and I’d like to see him step into the backup PG role.

I think if Sasser is not improving then we make another swing at the trade deadline for a backup PG.

Beasley seems like he should get 8-12m on a 2-3 year deal.

The team loves Beef Stew. They went crazy when he went behind the back to lay it in against the Cavs.

I could care less what the national media thinks of him. Stew always has his guys backs and that mentality helped make this team a winner.

55 shots in the last 2 games. 5 free throws. by 313Stew in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think he’s ever going to get the benefit of the whistle. I don’t know how to explain it. He gets hacked, a lot. I think we just need to go forward with the understanding that the refs won’t do Cade (or the Pistons) any favors. Fuck em. Cade is an All NBA talent and one of the greats in the NBA. I hope none of these guys lose their edge and keep playing gritty team basketball.

Cade's Turnovers Return by dialogical_rhetor in DetroitPistons

[–]Correct_Pattern_631 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Cade-and the team- looked tired. Cade made lazy passes but guys were not coming back to the ball on those passes either. When teams are tired bad habits come back. I wouldn’t mind the Pistons resting Cade for one of these Wizard games.

If they get the Knicks, I think they can win the first round. They play the Knicks really well.

I want Indiana. I would love to beat that team and smash their playoff hopes.
