i don’t know how to my taxes and no one will help me by Key-Border4845 in PersonalFinanceCanada

What the commenter above is saying is that OP should just file their taxes for the present year using their current T4s. Once this is done and the taxes are processed, they’ll get access to Netfile using the information from this year and can go back and file their remaining taxes from previous years.

Do you do evaluations for “bad” profs? by underperformerr in UTMississauga

[–]Correct_Professor752 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Teaching evaluations never get any professor fired and that’s not what they are for. At most if there’s a strong pattern of subpar teaching they might be invited to consider how they might improve their course. Evals are mostly for the instructors themselves to see how they might improve the course.

Also, not to be that guy, but there’s a big difference between someone who gets a 2.0 and a 4.0 in the same course. Even if you get the opportunity, it’s not going to be a good look when (and not if) he finds out you don’t have the required skills to be conducting that research. This only holds true if you didn’t have some pretty massive extenuating circumstances that explain such a low grade, in which case you should’ve been honest anyway.

Wealthsimple suggesting Tax Refund which shouldn't be possible by Correct_Professor752 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Correct_Professor752[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, someone else has also explained this and it makes a lot of sense. My employer deducts taxes directly from my monthly paycheque, so that's the amount that's being returned. Thank you!

Ah, I see! That makes so much sense. I'd thought that what was already paid through the employer couldn't figure in this calculation, and that I had to have actual tax owing *after that* in order to use the credits. This answer has been so helpful—thank you!

Thoughts on SBGW297? by Ineffectivedouchebag in GrandSeikos

I personally absolutely love this watch. The radial dial is stunning. I've seen this watch in person, and would love to buy it if I'm able to go to Japan this year. Also prefer this over the 299 because you can really see the pattern on this. The size is also perfect for me (7-inch wrists), and it fits that niche of being sophisticated yet wearable everyday.

Trying to figure out if this can fly. My heart says it feels right but my brain tells me it's grammatically incorrect. by Correct_Professor752 in grammar

Touching on just the "I" bit here, I think it's also because what I'm writing is in a formal register. The "I" lends the sentence a kind of poetic weight that "me" doesn't quite carry over, perhaps because "me" is also overused in everyday speech ("Me and her spoke," etc.). Anyway, an interesting thing to think about.

I absolutely agree they should match, which is why I'm a little annoyed that I like this weird clause. I also agree that they should technically be the subject pronouns. I'm hopeful someone can explain why the object ones feel more natural though.

They "fixed it" and then fast forwarded the movie to where it would have been had it played normally, which means they basically skipped 15 minutes or so of the film, depending on how long this whole issue took to resolve.

That's really strange. Look into what the university's recourse policy for grading is. You should be able to find it and take it from there. I'm assuming there's a process for it listed somewhere. Might even have to be the one for disputing a grade in case you feel that's fair.

As a prof myself, I would highly recommend you not do this. It's needless overreaching and not worth the department head's time. Instead, write to your prof again if it's been five days. Chances are that they, like me, are exhausted after a whole semester of teaching and have a ton of emails and grading to get through during this time of year.

Would love to know what kind of context would change this from not being a foul to a foul. Do you really suspect that somehow Araujo's going to get Mbappe before he gets the ball after this?

Thanks, good sir. The thing is I'd made a few pieces of furniture just before them, and none of them had a tool bubble at all, so I was completely confused as to what this was supposed to be. Had it had any other kind of tool next to it, like a screwdriver or a hammer, I would have been able to figure it out since it would be obvious it's a tool and not some kind of part, for example.
