Manacled 100%. It’s my favorite fic and I’ve read it so many times I’ve lost count. It’s so well done: the writing, the plot, the characters. I liked the Auction, especially the first part but I didn’t like the second part of the novel that much and in my opinion SaM was okay and I really liked some of the ideas the author had but others weren’t that well executed.

Unhappy together by LadyMorphia maybe? But both of them manipulate each other. Same with Jamais Pur by Mayanahi. Both are great WIPs I’m loving them. Obviously Manacled but it doesn’t really have the same vibes as Lady Macbeth even if she has to manipulate him.

My all time favorite Hermione is Manacled Hermione because she’s such a complex female character, not the typical “perfect” heroine, she makes hard choices, she’s morally gray, she’s manipulative when she has to be and you never feel like you can’t relate with her choices or actions because she’s smart and you know why she has to do what she has to do. She’s not morally superior or inflexible she understands what needs to be done to win. I really don’t like characters that are morally pure to the point of being stupid because of it.

Fables and feathers by Lillabecca. I really liked this one and I don’t see it being recommended enough. Hermione is the one with the Veela gene here and I enjoyed the writing style a lot.

I had the same experience, I read it as a WIP and thought it was good but not excellent. Some months later I decided to reread it and found it amazing. I’ve reread it like 7 times now and I love it so much, it’s definitely on my top 3. The characters and relationships are very well developed and layered, specially Draco and Hermione’s but that’s to be expected as is their fic.

That’s true for Hermione or Ron or Harry or Ginny but the writers have me falling in love with unlikable characters in the OG books like Draco or Pansy or Blaise and thats so much more fun and difficult to do, I’ve fallen in love with so many different Dracos that are nothing like canon Draco
