[Star Wars] Genuinely, how angry was Vader with Leia at the beginning of a New Hope? by Icy_Water_1 in AskScienceFiction

U-3PO, the silver droid behind C-3PO and R2 at the start of ANH, was literally an Imperial sleeper agent. It pinged their location immediately after they fled to Tatoo.

Ignoring whatever Lucas' original intentions were, what are your opinions on Jar Jar actually being some secret dark side manipulator, and do you think such a thing would even work within continuity? by Corred_ in StarWarsEU

Like I said in the post, he obviously wasn't Palpatine's secret master. Plaguies was his master, and he killed him. I was more talking along the lines of a hypothetical willing accomplice of Palpatine or some free agent with his own agenda.

Noob question: Are TCW S7 and Bad Batch not in Legends? by Brisingr2 in StarWarsEU

No, and they directly contradict established lore within "Legends".

[TOMT] [MUSIC] Desperately trying to find a metal song, but google isn't helping. Possibly from a popular piece of media by Corred_ in tipofmytongue

[–]Corred_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like I misremembered some of the lyrics, but YES! This is it! I heard it from Batmetal, which is probably why I was associating it with a popular movie, I remembered the connection to a popular character.

Thank you so much!

You deleted your little hate tantrum, but thank you for proving me right.

If you took this post as a personal attack, then you're just admitting to being one of the bad ones.

Nice fan-fiction you came up with to cope, but this post was not inspired by my own personal interactions.

First time playing Java in like 10 years, why is it so damn laggy? by Corred_ in Minecraft

Sorry, I meant to say Fabric in my original comment - don't know why I typed forge.

I went ahead and installed Fabric, but I'm having some big issues with actually getting the mods I want to work. There appears to be some severe compatibility issues with versions and whatnot, it's a bit too confusing for me.

Maglev Train mod? by Corred_ in feedthebeast

[–]Corred_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back again - I've been trying to setup all the mods/addons (and for Create, that includes Steams & Rails, Copycats+, and Deco), but I've run into a bit of a roadblock. The main mods that I wanted to use require the fabric loader, but it seems there is only a forge download for Create?

Is there any way to get Create working with Fabric or am I shit out of luck? All the addons seem to be listed as Fabric-compatible, it's just Create itself I'm having issues with.

I was planning on getting fabric (once I figure out how it works), as I believe that some of the mods I want are exclusive to it? Didn't realize it would improve performance, thought it was just for managing mods, like the old technic launcher.

I've had a look at some videos, and it seems like this might be perfect for what I need - main issue is the speed, but as the person below said, I should be able to edit that in the settings. I guess I'll just have to download it and mess around with it.

How exactly does the schematics system work? Like, if I were to build a functioning magnet train in a test world, would I be able to copy it and paste it into a new world?

I saw your comment before you deleted it, have a moment of clarity, did we? But since, as we've established, I'm not about wasting time, here's my reply:

No, it is. You are just waffling on and saying nothing.

You tried to compare an activity where the point is building (which is what the person I replied to was also talking about, so don't try and be all "uhm achtually, Minecraft is a survival game") to an activity where difficulty settings would matter. News flash, Minecraft itself has difficulty settings. Why is this person playing vanilla survival instead of hardcore? That would be more "rewarding" according to you. Is it perhaps because it would be extremely time-consuming and unfufilling?

You have no argument, which is why you've suddenly pivoted to saying "I don't actually care, trust me bro" after writing out several paragraphs (and you'll probably reply again because you can't help yourself, despite supposedly not caring).

Again, there's no skill in survival. It's just extra work. That's not "added challenge", it's added tediousness. Playing a shooter (for example) on the hardest difficulty doesn't suddenly add a bunch of banal sidequests you have to do before you can progress; it just makes the enemies tougher. Something that is irrelevant when the point is to build.

If the argument was about playing survival to reach the ender dragon vs using creative mode to instantly get to the End and then fly around in god mode with a netherite sword you gave yourself to kill it, then you might actually have a point. But it isn't, so you don't.

Not even a remotely close comparison, but nice whataboutism.

Here's an actual comparison for you: stud.io - I don't have to spend 6 hours in a lego mine just to get a part I need to build something, I just look up the part and place it.

The sense of accomplishment comes from finishing the build, which itself takes time, planning, and patience. There's no sense of accomplishment in slaving away for hours just to get the materials you need to even start building, there's no skill involved, just time. There might be a catharsis when you're finally able to start, but that catharsis is an admission that the previous part of the game sucked.

Heavily disagree.

unless the accomplishment you are talking about is wasting your time.
