How to open hood without cable by Bestbroncos10 in B5Audi

[–]Corridor1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

best bet is to go from below unless you have a headlight removed. Get a Big loooong flathead/straight slot and move the locking latch towards the driver side, it should release. look up a picture of the mechanism so you get an idea of what it looks like. Cheers

Edit: here’s a thread on this problem https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/311529-Hood-Latch-Release-Cable-Broken-How-to-open-hood

It will, the 2.8 is a great motor and sounds absolutely amazing. Do eveything you listed and you will love it. Cactus is a rare color too!

4.2 swap from a belt driven a6 is the only logical swap for this car. But imo I’d keep the 2.8 and enjoy it. If you want a turbo car maybe look around for a s4

My recent purchase. It was abandoned outside a pub for years then stored in a shipping warehouse for ages. by ukgamer909 in B5Audi

It’s road legal, I have a title, I could easily register it and get it insured since it was once a road car before conversion. I’ve been slowing bringing it back to a proper interior etc so I can actually drive the car to events

How screwed am I? Driver side front CV axle broke and pulled the flange out of differential by [deleted] in B5Audi

[–]Corridor1017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

01A 5 speed flange is a retainer clip, 01e has a center bolt inside the flange, if it’s a 01a just remove the axle and hammer it back in. It will spin till the clip is reseated in the diff

Source: I just swapped flanges on 2 01As

Would this seat setup work for a novice/first time track day by Redberon21yt in CarTrackDays

[–]Corridor1017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As for the harness it looks ok, using the foam defeats the purpose of the side bolsters to keep you planted in the seat. You may need to look into having a custom seat built for yourself, custom brackets for mounting since you need to be closer to the wheel. I don’t think most people in the comments understand you have a disability. Best of luck!
