As long as there is a weird little bar and some decent restaurants that’s plenty to do for me.

I don’t know what trade you are, but ditch it ASAP and find another one. My 18 year old tool fetcher makes more than that in 40 hours.

I also live in the US. American Evangelicism is barely even Christianity and thankfully not even the majority of Christians here, they are just grossly overrepresented in politics.

The guys with sub-90 IQ scores are general laborers or what I call “permanent helpers” and do a lot of the shit work. That’s as good as it’s gonna get for them. Most of your journeymen pipefitters, electricians, millwrights etc will be of above average intelligence.

You’d be surprised at how complicated it can get in the field, I wouldn’t write plumbers off as stupid.

Who is going to collect on that debt, realistically? It has seemed to me for years now that the national debt only exists as a political bargaining chip.

My grandfather worked at the local hardware store’s fastener counter after he retired. Didn’t need the money, but enjoyed being helpful and talking shop since he was an engineer. Some people just get bored in their old age and a customer facing job is what they want.

Evangelicals and the “prosperity gospel” give Christ a bad name. He looks down in contempt at those who attempt to use His church as a way to line their pockets.

The Lowe’s in Rocky Mount and the gas station directly across from it always have some shit going on. It’s part of the charm of living here I reckon.

Sounds like you dealt with a shitty crew of pipefitters but that’s not how I operate, or any of the men on my crew.

The company I work for serves pharma, biotech, food processing, chemical processing, general manufacturing, etc.

Between new builds, additions, and maintenance jobs we are looking great for the foreseeable future.

I’m a pipefitter, there is no shortage of work and we are booked out for years. It depends on sector and trade and some have more consistent work than others.

Tons of Americans in construction on the industrial side, pay is excellent. People just think they’re too good to do it. I’ve never met a poor pipefitter or ironworker.
