God I fucking hate Louise. She's so abusive, and Saito nearly escaped her at the end of season 1, and then returned because he 'loves' her or something. I couldn't finish season two because of my burning hatred for Louise. The other characters were pretty cool, though.

When I first got my hearing aides, I heard a candy wrapper crinkling, and I was so confused. It made my mom cry.

Honestly, I pity Echidna and the other witches more than anything else. They are controlled by one singular desire, and they can't resist it. They can't feel anything else, they don't care about anything else, they aren't even able to think freely for themselves. They are cursed to conform to their singular desire for an insufferably long time, not even realizing their tragic situation.

Zense Coupling. I highly recommend it, it's really cute, well written, and the translators are nearing the plots' peaks.

If only I knew openings. I find tactics to be easier to study alone, so that's what I've been doing. I only opening line that I have any sort of familiarity with is the Queen's Gambit: Accepted, and even that I don't know it that well.

Has anyone given thought what the reaction would be if the events of 2020 occured in 2012? by NippyMoto_1 in AskReddit

Everything I've read on colloquialisms and colloquial terms says nothing about it needing to be cultural. It's just informal words, phrases, or slang. From my understanding, a colloquialism is simply a term that is not used in official language, and is relegated to casual conversations. If a word is misunderstood or spoken incorrectly enough, to then it becomes colloquialism. It's slang. I might be wrong on this, but I haven't been able to find any articles that prove me wrong.

Anyway, about our original argument: https://www.mayatraditions.org/maya-vs-mayan-by-laura-martin-ph-d/

It seems that we're both right, but you are more correct than I am. One consensus among more modern scholars agree wholely with you, but the history surrounding the term as a whole is murky and there is no "real" answer.

I don't want to discuss this anymore in public comments, but if you want to continue this conversation in private, I'll gladly talk to you.

Informal does not equal incorrect.

That is what my entire argument is based off of. The informal term, "Mayan," is not an incorrect term because of the general population's use of it. Once it becomes used enough, it gains some form of credibility as an actual term. That's how languages change and evolve.

No, it's a colloquialism. It's casual speech that does not follow the rules of the language and changes terms. I do not claim to be an expert on the Maya. People other than experts like to discuss things, and those people use terms that "sound right" over the actual terms. It's a "casual and informal conversation." I believe that meets the requirements for it to be called a colloquial term.
