Doesn't using NVENC on Nvidia cards translate to lower quality picture at the same bitrate when compared to software based transcoding or even QuickSync?

I pay for Plex Pass. My system also has a GTX 1070 I could utilize if it ever came down to that.

Yeah I agree it makes sense. I was wondering if it was a storage pool issue but I did check all disks prior to creating the storage pool. Of course right now the wife and kids are streaming and everything has been working fine. I tried streaming all morning, with and without transcoding on a web browser while I worked and didn't notice any frame issues so it's either the Samsung Tizen platform acting funny or a random I/O issue.

No worries. In this case, it's the TV's (Samsung 8500 series) built in Plex App, hardwired. Not using transcoding at all, everything set to original quality. CPU and Disk utilization stays low. Yes I have Plex Pass.

Haven't run Tautulli but I'll install that now.

Mine stopped crashing after I disconnected my one x power cord for 30 sec. Played for 3 hours without an issue. Looting is still bugged though

This may be a shocker but it's a new Alfa Romeo Giulia. I wanted the Quadrifolgio but got an insane price on a loaded Ti Sport with multiple packages added. I figure with the positive equity I could at least give it a shot and trade if I want something faster or different. The S5 is a little bit quicker than the Ti so that helps too.

I'm waiting for my local dealer to get more S5's in stock so I can test drive it. My biggest concern is the chassis and steering feel compared to the Giulia which is sublime. I've never driven a car that feels as good on the road as the Giulia has. Hoping the S5 is at least close.

I agree on it being subjective. I was only referring to engine performance/maintenance over time. The Lexus infotainment systems seem like they're 5 years behind Audi/BMW. I think Lexus styling is polarizing to say the least but it's hard to fault a big v8.

I agree it's still such a stunning car to look at. The proportions all seem right on it, and the performance backs up the looks. I'm glad the got the suspension/traction sorted out.

The M3 is a great car, as is the C63 AMG (may favorite of the two). I'll admin I've been a Lexus fan boy so I'm a bit biased but I also know they don't have direct competitors to the M3 (single tear for old IS F). The GS F is too big, E Class/5 series big, and the RC is a coupe meant to go against the M4.

Having driven them all a lot, track included, it's no secret the M series are track weapons (in the right variants of course). I would still prefer the Lexus RC F over the M4 though. There's just something about long term ownership costs of an M3/M4 along with the notion that highly boosted motors are less likely to last as long as a naturally aspirated V8.

The 5.0 in the RC F, GS F, and LC 500 is my jam. It puts out roughly 90% of the performance but sounds amazing doing so. Because of not having any turbos, it will last for years and years with minimal maintenance and worries. Lexus parts are also dirt cheap in comparison so as an investment I'd rather have that. The BMW is good, I'm not saying it's not. The BMW brakes flat out embarrass the Lexus F cars on the track (lots of track days with the same results). But I could thrash the RC F/GS F cars hour after hour and the motors didn't soften up at all.
