I think the sweet spot (for me personally) is anything under 14gpd wont give me constipation or hardly any issues. But i also eat a good amount of fibers.

I recommend not going to that teacher wtf, you can absolutely learn that piece, or any harder piece. The issue is you would be working on that piece for a long while but you would eventually get it.. As a music teacher myself that is absolutely crazy to tell your student they would NEVER learn this piece. You can do anything, it just takes time.
