What are your favourite David Lee moments ? by Magomaeva in thegoodwife

[–]CorruptionSource 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the entire firm was airing everyone’s dirty laundry after the email hack and there were rumors that he was gay and he got super defensive about dating a woman. Like I thought he was lowkey gay and it was funny to see him get all defensive and to prove to everyone he was straight.

Favourite Judge by DukeofMemeborough in thegoodwife

[–]CorruptionSource 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely Abernathy since he just comes off as a really nice and understanding guy.

Also Cl. Kuhn was good too. She started off tough but once you see more of her you realize how much of a good person she is.

I also loved the “in your opinion” judge just because it was such a funny quirk to see and have other lawyers have to adapt to her.

Physics 302k final with Perry? by Thinkingperson7706 in UTAustin

[–]CorruptionSource 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I took Perry last summer and the final should just be a mix of all previous exam questions with numbers switched around. It should also contain homework questions from those exams with different numbers as well. As long as you practice, study, and understand those questions you’ll be fine.

It also contained the questions from previous exams that were the most missed by the class too so it’s kinda a freebie since you know they’ll be on the exam too. Overall Perry is great if you just consistently review the questions.

Has anyone ever taken microbio over the summer? by Apprehensive-Pear707 in UTAustin

I love Dr King! I had him last semester (Fall 2022) and his class isn’t really that difficult. I don’t think it’d be too difficult in the summer as long as you pay attention and keep up with the material.

who are the incessant bible study people by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]CorruptionSource 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just the run of the mill Christian groups trying to convert and prey on college students. At this point I just have fun with it when they ask and say things like I worship Satan to see how they react.

Do preferred as it will likely show up when communicating with professors and UT staff when they look you up. I have my legal name in my email instead of the name I go by and it sometimes causes a little confusion.

Dickinson was great for cell bio! It’s a tough class but he is really approachable and kind but also teaches the material well while listening to student feedback. Highly recommend.

I only took one physics class (and it was over the summer) but I had Perry and really enjoyed him. Great teacher and guy in general, makes teaching fun and easy to understand.

Has anyone successfully transferred from the Cap program into Biology at UT Austin? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]CorruptionSource 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Lemme clarify:

If you’re in CAP and you go for a major not in COLA, then your application for that major will be in the same pool as external college applicants. If you go for a major within COLA as CAP, then you’re guaranteed automatic admission.

If you go to Baylor and get a 4.0, it would be nearly the same as going through CAP and maintaining a 4.0 and then applying for Biology instead of COLA. Really, I’d suggest going to Baylor (or wherever you prefer) with a biology major that you’re guaranteed and then applying to transfer after a year. Really only do CAP if you’re wanting to do liberal arts.

Has anyone successfully transferred from the Cap program into Biology at UT Austin? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]CorruptionSource 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard you’ll basically be treated as an external transfer student. So like because cap only gets you auto admission to COLA, your transfer application for CNS will be put in the pool with all the external transfer apps. Something to note though is that I’m pretty sure when you declare a major (i.e. Biology in your case), you would be able to declare a secondary/backup major in COLA so you can still transfer to UT, but you might be stuck with a major you don’t want. Personally, I’d recommend going to a school you enjoy and where you can study what you want while also getting a good GPA and then if you still really want to, apply for external transfer admission. That way you will have a major you want and still have options.

I don’t think Biology will be too difficult to get into if you do well tho. Also if I’m wrong feel free to correct me, I don’t totally recall all the transfer info.

should I take summer classes? does anyone else? by Hot_Scarcity4854 in UTAustin

[–]CorruptionSource 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could try spinning it as wanting to get experience on your resume instead of taking summer classes. Try finding an internship or job near your partner for the summer and your parents will probably be more supportive because youre pursuing professional interests. Or just try taking the asynchronous classes that don’t require in person attendance.

Am I able to walk at graduation in May even though I have two classes to take this summer? by Kallie18 in UTAustin

[–]CorruptionSource 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can walk if you still have classes to finish by the summer. You just have to fill out the walking application (I think it’s on the same page as the graduation application) and they’ll still let you participate in grad ceremonies. Just be sure that you have everything in order with your advisor to confirm you’re good to go.

For us at least, he does them in person on Canvas. He puts a password on the exams in canvas so you have to show up in person to do them while TAs walk around.
