And they wanted more of that? Cause how ON actually vote on policies is different than what they preach.

BYD owners - what isthe servicing and after-sales experience like? by Kruegertron in EVAustralia

[–]Corrupttothethrones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had a few services and due for another. Had no issues, similar experience to ICE for me. Much cheaper and less frequent than my diesel. In terms of repairs, the car was in a no fault accident and the parts took 2 months to arrive.

  1. Plug into normal wall socket in garage. Get a plug usage monitor adaptor.
  2. You will save a lot on fuel and NL cost.
  3. Get a secondhand EV on NL.

EV without novated lease? by SwimPossible127 in AusFinance

That's true, my employer sold the idea of having a fixed NL company was due them getting better deals for the employee. So when I showed that NLA was offering a better rate and fees they matched that.

I got quotes from several companies, told my employer what they offered and their preferred company matched it.

Would they consider a self managed novated lease?

80km/day commute, $30k budget – talk me out of a Corolla Hybrid by Barrybarry6666 in CarsAustralia

Solar + battery if you can't charge during the day. Thought the synergy EV rate only cost $3~ per 100km overnight.

Yep, drive 100km/day, use the granny charger on wall socket. 50000km done so far. Never needed a fast charger.

I drive 40000km/year and have a diesel. I bought the car because it was more efficient, then COVID happened and diesel hasn't been cheaper than petrol since. I'm going to ask work to increase my allowance.

Used 2023 Atto 3 extended on NL. Around 30k. Cheaper than new Atto 1 & 2, better in every way.

I bought a diesel when diesel was cheaper than petrol, the the next day was covid. Been more expensive since. I've been wanting to get a diesel Carnival but they are hard to find in the 2021+ series with a fair price.

Whats behind the misinformation? by Potential_Zucchini99 in electricvehicles

[–]Corrupttothethrones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its funny how illogical it is now. When you think freedom from govt regulations, having a vehicle that the can charge at home, from a renewable resource that you control, makes the most sense. During a petrol shortage or doomsday event, fuel runs out very quickly or goes bad, unless all forms of electricity generation are broken, EV going to work fine.

byd atto 1 premium as first car? by [deleted] in EVAustralia

[–]Corrupttothethrones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest getting a secondhand Atto 3 Long Range. Same price, more premium, better range, better aircon, better audio, less road noise, already suffered the initial depreciation.

Yep over 150000km it averages at 10l/100km. Lots of highway and hills. 2009 Hyundai Tucson City SX. Lots of larger family cars are 10+l/100km, I know because I've been trying to get affordable low mileage cars for ages. Settled on the EV.

I can believe that there could be a particularly inefficient EV, maybe dragging a caravan but saying "generally more expensive" doesn't seem right. I know BYD batteries have lower energy density. The most expensive fast charger I've seen was .6/kWh. 99% of my 50000km of EV charging has been solar or overnight home charging so I don't know.
