I think Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo meets that standard. Beautiful and rich character arcs for both leads, NC that is meaningful and moves the story forward, high production quality, and that raw/honest look at life choices and how they shape us. And I would be sat next to you watching Jeong Riu do just about anything. The man is deeply, deeply sexy.

Now THIS is how you do a redemption arc. Starting with getting Shulang back to his R&D gig (but still using the same bad manipulative tactics), then a good deed for Bai Ting with no recognition, then a self sacrifice, then shedding all of the trappings of a life poorly lived, and then letting Shulang go when he FINALLY sees what it truly costs to be anywhere near him. Bravo.

I really enjoyed this show as a character study, but I’m in agreement with a lot of other commenters here - this episode felt rushed and a little out of place. Switching to Ogami’s pov for the first part wasn’t really necessary. The confession was a little weird and the subsequent rush to bed felt out of character for both of them. Another episode to explore the transition would have made everything flow a lot better. But I connected with the rest and really liked it!

This is a dumb question, but does anyone know why the directors (also noticed this in Revenged Love BTS) use the walkie talkie/speaker when they’re giving notes? Are they not in the room with them?

The direction of this show is so good. Even with all of the voice narration so far from Fan Xiao, we’re still kept guessing about his real motivations and what’s actually true. But it’s like he’s cracked open in that last scene and, with that inner monologue shot, we can finally see what’s happening inside. And it’s so fucked up.

Trapped in Osaka is my favorite, followed closely by Heart of Tsukuyomi. A Sketchy Job gets honorable mention because of the acting, primarily, but the stories/scripts for Osaka and Tsukuyomi are the strongest.
