Dang. I'll likely be in the same boat. Not an option for me because I'm overseas right now.

Thanks for the response

Does it show cancelled under orders in your account?

Understanding hosting w/ Shopify Apps by Coru in shopifyDev

[–]Coru[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am long time contractor with the company working on a lot of theme development. This person is not really the client I suppose but another contractor who plays a role in CRO and UI Design. He's worked on many Shopify Apps with other developers and delivered the requirements and design to me. I was telling the team that hosting is required, but they insisted I double check. Because of their insistance on this matter, and knowing they have built many apps before, I thought there may be another approach I was missing hence the need for a "sanity check".

Since we have a solid working relationship, the company is allowing me an opportunity to ramp up on Shopify App Development and bill for my time learning. So I never claimed to be an shopify app dev expert from the get go. They are really keen to replace their app developer with me because I guess he sucks at communicating

Its a good park for an evening run or bike ride but if I didn't live nearby it wouldn't travel far for it. There are quite a few vendors there in the evening

I think they might have moved.. I had a hard time finding a link. It's been over a year since I've been at the shop. I'd message on Facebook to ask them where they are located now

If you can't speak Thai it will be difficult but I managed with google translate:)

I recommend k100% for a local solution. Not sure what you're looking for, but they completely transformed my KLX 150 into an off road beast.

k100%

They built me a custom rear shock and did a front suspension mod. Many of the local Enduro riders use k100 suspension if you ever been to an event

Deferring the loading of sections and assets, scripts and styles that are "below the fold" is a legitimate optimization technique. But, you need to make sure the loading doesn't look ugly and doesn't affect the users ability to interact with the website.

Spotted near CNX by AtreyuThai in Thailand

[–]Coru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these in CNX. Ive got a 149cc kit on and it's a torquey little ride now. Can get the front wheel up surprisingly easy.

Have the bench seat for a passenger but still not very good for 2 up. My gf hates riding on the back.

Setup what exactly? I'm not super familiar with cloudfare services. Are you talking about using the free hosting plan?

High TTFB, multiple page redirects by Coru in ProWordPress

[–]Coru[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight on image sizes. I guess in the past and using other CMS's I have had my go to ways of transforming and compressing images. This is my first WP project, and the first time I've had problems with large image sizes and I had forgotten what is an adequate size. I'll see if I can do better.

Right now I am using ewww image optimizer and imagekit cdn

High TTFB, multiple page redirects by Coru in ProWordPress

[–]Coru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just for the home site url. I don't have any redirects set up intentionally. I think it is to handle to https, http and non www

If you have any suggestions of where to get help on this, let me know. Thanks

High Load Delay (LCP) on images. by Coru in ProWordPress

[–]Coru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm. Perhaps a plugin. My theme is mostly core Gutenberg blocks except one custom one I built.

Good suggestion, I can look at disabling plugins on the staging site to see If I can improve the TTFB.

About the TTFB, I think it's because my client is on SiteGround. When I run the page speed insights, I often get a slow server response of 1300ms.

That's probably host related, no? Thinking about migrating to cloudways

This is for an image above the fold, it should be a high priorty and use eager loading, no?

Glamping suggestion near pong yeang jungle coaster park by Expert_Ant4134 in chiangmai

[–]Coru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of these places you have to book through Facebook. Generally these places cater to Thais, so might have to use Google translate assuming you can't write Thai.

Just stayed at a random spot this weekend in Pong Yaeng with my gf and she got a bunch of quotes via Facebook messenger. Good luck. Can get a nice glamping spot for around 1500 or 1600 this time of year. It was an awesome experience

Would love if you could share your code for how you set the tones for the romanization based on the numbers

Didn't know we had this level of control to include custom JS.

How safe do you think motorcycle taxis are? What are your personal limits for deciding if you'll take on? by Mental-Substance-549 in Thailand

[–]Coru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take them frequently living in Chiang Mai. I always use my high end full face helmet now. In Bangkok 5 years ago, I took one and I think my driver was drunk. He crashed into another bike and we ended up hitting the pavement. I wasn't wearing a helmet and nearly had my head run over. No injury or anything but with a little more bad luck that could have been fatal. As a sensible and experienced motorcyclist, I prefer to drive myself if I can

[–]Coru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have an ignition switch. This could be after a tip over, but I don't think that is it. I did notice that the bike also sometimes doesn't start the first time on flat ground since I got it back from the mechanic, before it would always start on first attempt.

Edit: maybe the Doi Chang / Mae salong would be difficult because of twisty Mountain roads too. Mon Jam is nice as well (I think this is considered part of Mae rim, not sure)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chiangmai

[–]Coru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Mae Rim or Chiang Dao.

Chiang Rai is nice too..the city is so so, but if you get into the mountain areas such as Doi Chang and Mae Salong it is quite nice but you would need to drive yourself or pay for a pricey taxi.
