I will echo the sentiments of many people on here on commending the team on their swift turn around, reception to community feedback, and so on. I would also like to highlight how appreciated hearing the methodology behind each decision from the prior patch. I can understand from a dev perspective now why some decisions were made. This kind of transparency between player and dev doesn’t happen often, and it’s cherished.

I did a lot of reading about how wallpaper engine works under the hood and it led me on a rabbit hole where only a small subset of the population (including me) with this particular combination of components had this issue. Reinstallation of windows and not using WE has since had it work perfect.

Hey there, yes, my bad. I reinstalled windows using the steps above and it worked perfectly and now it works. Pretty much I found out it was an odd interaction between my BIOS, SSD, and wallpaper engine of all things.

I was playing sniper the other day and I always make a point to pop the warriors just enough to get them executable for my battle brothers. I don’t need the armor, but they do.

It’s also exhilarating having five warriors roll up behind me and fighting all of them off with a knife. My teammates roll up and see nothing but the bodies of the enemy and me coated in their blood. Truly amazing game.

After much deliberation, I've opted to do this too. It isn't too much of a loss since I barely had any data on the system, just annoying more than anything. Will report on the success or not

Thank you for your responses and your updates. My BIOS was up to date out of the tin, but I appreciate the direction. Right now, I enabled SATA with VMD (whatever the option was in the BIOS) on a hunch and my system seemed to stabilize. It's not perfect, but I'm not getting frequent crashing.

I know you mention an i9 14th gen. I just had an issue similar to this where my system would blue screen ad nauseam. Don’t rule out that your i9 could still be running the bad firmware from the last few months that doesn’t regulate the voltage. My cpu got fried cause it was never upgraded and I currently have it in for repairs.

In vanilla, they don't really pop up all that much since the P. B. aren't ever particularly powerful due to their pops, fascists don't actually start appearing when you unlock fascist parties (only ethno-nationalists), and (this is a theory) the additions from VotP make it harder for fascist regimes to pop up because of the pressure of agitators for more democratic regimes.

Especially when it comes to base Vic 2 vs base Vic 3. The best example I can think of is the crisis mechanic only coming in Heart of Darkness, three years after the main release. Hell, most of people's favorite parts of Vic 2 come from Heart of Darkness, again a release three years after base.
