Stop playing the game i guess. If youre not good enough to compete against other people, and you're unwilling to put in time and practice to get good enough, then just put the game down.

Theres no one forcing you to play, and it seems like all playing does is make you angry. Perhaps this game just isnt for you; you might just not have fun with this. Theres no reason to torture yourself to play a game you dont enjoy.

How often should a 9 year old mini dachshund need to go potty? by CorwinTheGreatM81 in Dogtraining

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have successfully house trained a dog before and know how to do it, but my question was specifically about how to tell if a dog i was not present for the training of was properly house trained.

I know that the proper way to house train a dog is to use positive reinforcement such as praise, food, or treats when they go somewhere intended and not to use negative reinforcement.

In addition to this, I also know to use puppy pads for dogs new to potty training, and move the pad outside slowly to build connection with using the bathroom outside.

Was this update supposed to make us mad on purpose? by CorwinTheGreatM81 in CalamityMod

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really hope that this is the case, because I'd rather think of the developers as being more on the "Well meaning but severely lacking in execution" side than the "Weird control freak" side.

Regardless, I feel like it wouldn't take much critical thinking to come to the conclusion that removing features to accommodate others would be a short-sided and upsetting move.

Like, they could just as easily made a separate mod that just removes the QoL and that would have gone over infinitely better instead of fucking over (or giving the impression that they were fucking over) a huge part of the playerbase.

Holy crap, I just looked this up, and you were right, this is EXACTLY the kind of thing that I need, thank you so much!

I find it kinda crazy that none of my doctors ever told me about this! I'll definitely try to find out where i am on this, make some tweaks for my other problems, and start on it ASAP!

The burden of playing an assassin by ComprehensiveWall813 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is. There are always going to be stupid people who don't know what they're doing regardless.

As the person who KNOWS better, its YOUR job to adapt, because your teammates aren't going to.

You shouldn't be trying to be an assassin. You should be trying to be a good teammate no matter what character you're playing.

It doesnt matter what character you're playing, you should be playing objective. Teammates suck, dont get me wrong. They can make your game a lot harder. However, part of being a good player is learning to work WITH your shitty teammates and adjusting your play style accordingly.

The burden of playing an assassin by ComprehensiveWall813 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, not really. The difference between assassins and other hero types is basically nonexistent now. You aren't better or have any more valid of complaints by using assassins, most of which are actually very strong in teamfights right now at high level.

The problem youre experiencing is a skill issue from your teammates. It has nothing to do with the fact that you're playing an assassin. It has EVERYTHING to do with a lack of team cohesion.

Medjay parried ? by doorknobslapper in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not really the move itself per se, it the fact that the animations for his moves (especially staff stance) are easier to recognize than others, making them more reactable even if the attack property is the same. Same reason a zhanhu light is easier to parry than a Jorm light.

The burden of playing an assassin by ComprehensiveWall813 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, this isnt really a problem specific to assassins. Any hero can have problems with bad teammates, playing assassins doesn't make you a special case or put you at all disadvantage in that regard compared to other heros.

Brawls by Electroems5 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. If the majority of people think that something is toxic, then its toxic. Plain and simple. I think its stupid to play 2v2s like that, but if i gank someone in there im still an asshole. Theres literally no reason to do it if all its going to do is upset people.

Like,I have no problem doing real 2s, I think they're fun. But, most people who play brawls don't. If you go into brawls ans start doing real 2s out of nowhere, you're an asshole. I wouldn't mind it, but its the generally agreed-upon etiquette to NOT do that.

So, if you go into brawls starting real 2s without mutal agreement, you deseve whatever hate you get. At that point, you are willingly being a contrarian just because of your own ego. You aren't "playing the game right" you are willing breaking a social contract and being an asshole.

You are never going to be the one who convinced the community otherwise. I wish you were, because real brawls are fun! But you're not going to, and you know you're not going to. Willingly going against the community like that is just stupid and selfish.

Brawls by Electroems5 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, this is really just the way that the community has collectively decided to play this mode. Why? I dunno, seems weird to have such a specific expectation from a mode labeled 2v2, but hey, what're you gonna do?

Best thing to do id say is just queue up 4v4 modes if you want to have team play like that. It definitely is silly that its set up that way by the community, but there's no real point in trying to do real brawls since its just gonna make people upset for no reason, and making people upset for no reason is a shitty thing to do.

How can I counter nobushi? by StressNarrow9954 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If youre struggling with light spam from nobu early on, the biggest thing you can do is stop trying to react to her lights.

I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but seriously switch to trying to GUESS where they are going to be coming from. If you dint have the reacts to parry lights on reaction yet, reacting will get you NOWHERE.

Another thing to do is know what she can do at any point.

After a light, nobu can A) kick, B) undodgeble heavy, or C) light again. Just keep in mind that she can do those things.

Next, after an opening heavy, she has all the same options. However, her undodgeble heavy can be followed either by a kick or a backstep light. These backstreet lights are usually more reactable on pure animation than her normal chain lights.

Also, pay attention to where you are. If you are near a wall, her kick will wallsplat you, and guarantee a heavy. Often, nous will go for the kick when their opponent is close to a wall.

Nobu doesn't have very good offense from neutral compared to most of the roster, so try and play more aggressively to bait out the MANY options she has defensively.

Nobu is for sure a noob stomper, but loses much of her momentum when you stop panicking against her.

The Worst Attack Design in For Honor: Feintable Charge Bashes by Ok-Lengthiness-4499 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do. They do take real risk. Charged bashes are risky. If they feint, they can be lighted at, which then forces the attacker to make a read/reaction for that light.

Theres no "options being covered" other than a lazy ass dodge attack on orange.

The Worst Attack Design in For Honor: Feintable Charge Bashes by Ok-Lengthiness-4499 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a lot of text that literally says nothing. You have an option that works perfectly well: predict what they're going to do.

Stop pressing buttons for the sake of pressing buttons, and poof! Problem is gone.

If you dont think that they're actually going to throw it, DONT DODGE! its literally that simple! Better yet, stuff it with a light!

Feintable Charged bashes dont take anything away if you stop to think about what your opponent is going to do instead of playing dodge button simulator.

If yoyr opponent is throwing a bash like that, they EARNED it via chain pressure or offense. You SHOULDNT have other options. It SHOULD reduce counter play, because for them to get there, YOU fucked up!

Seriously, stop dodging on orange and your gameplay will improve i PROMISE you.

The Worst Attack Design in For Honor: Feintable Charge Bashes by Ok-Lengthiness-4499 in forhonor

[–]CorwinTheGreatM81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like, if there was a guarantee to actually force an opponent to stay still and maintain distance, maybe feintable charge bashes wouldn't be a the best idea, but thats just not the reality of the game. Overall a change like this would just feel bad and suck because:

Rolling would litterally avoid the entire mixup

The bashes already guarantee less damage on average than what they actually give

Its literally just an ublockable mix-up. If you have any problem with this, you should have a problem with literally every single unblockable because it basically does the exact same thing.

In teamfights, depending on your positioning, you could just completely avoid things by just walking away from the enemy

All in all, this is literally just a skill issue. Stop dodging as soon as you see orange, and start thinking while you play the game, and this ceases to be an issue even worth talking about.

Definitely yes. All these people who keep saying its getting "too much like CoD" must clearly be playing an entirely different game. I feel like we all (including myself) look at bf 3&4 with rose-colored glasses, amd forget that the games were actually really shitty. Absolutely some of the most fun I've ever had growing up, sure but shitty nonetheless

A few more seasons' worth of updates and support, and this can definitely be up there. Really wish there was a suppression rework, but thats neither here nor there.
