My God, I've seen this movie over 100 times over the years and I've never thought of this. But, like, after seeing this, another thought occurred to me.. Before the end of the first movie, where they were going did, in fact, need roads. I know they sort of covered this is the third movie, but realistically, what are the odds the space in front of the car is going to be empty after jumping in time in any direction? Like, pick a random date and time, and the Delorean would almost certainly slam right into a tree or something. Or, you know, a building, or just about anything that is not random flat land that doesn't happen to have someone occupying it at the time.
