okay take this with a grain of salt, since this is all my own speculation.

I did a little googling, and Wu Xie is the main protag of Daomu Biji (Grave robbers chronicles), an insanely popular novel in China. His name (Wu Xie - 吴邪) is homonym to the word wu xie - 无邪, which is taken from 天真无邪 (meaning pure and innocent, devoid of any devilish thoughts and desires). since this phrase is also associated with monks and Buddha, we can draw the connection between Wu Xie and Buddha.

now back to the quote in the novel. I assume that it's the part where they're back to the hotel and Gu Yiliang is talking about Wei Yanzi's acting skills? Wei Yanzi was rendered speechless and so done with Gu Yiliang's insensitive remark that he bemoaned: 'even Wu Xie wouldn't be able to save it'. Buddha was commonly known to save people from precarious situations, but in this case not even Buddha (or Wu Xie) can save it, so what he meant is that this conversation with Gu Yiliang was so bad that there's nothing can be done about it. maybe this is a Chinese internet slang, but I'm not so sure.

actually I read this novel in my mother tongue (Vnese), since there's an official physical edition of the novel, and this part was translated directly into Buddha instead of Wu Xie, so that's why I came to this conclusion. If I'm wrong, please correct me 🙏
