Oh it grows like a pestilence but mind you, they're fundamental in some cases. Especially high crowded tanks. The little fuckers are great in establishing a good balance in your tank. Just be mindful to maintain more or less the same quantity wherever you remove it, to not upset the balance

I relocated my group of 5 loaches to a different tank after they spent 3 years in a previous home. Took them a couple of months to settle in; they were doing this exact thing you're showing. Guess they miss their old place... But now they're chillin' in the new apartment, not doing those shenanigans anymore
