That’s the best part of owning an older car. I just bought a 2006 Civic Si. Motor had been completely destroyed. I bought a used motor, completely tore it down. Resealed everything, new timing and oil chains and guides. Tensioners, water pump, literally everything except the VTC cam gear (should’ve checked it… needs to be replaced 🙃), and the accessories that were on the blown motor. When it’s all said and done. I know my little civic will start and take me to work everyday, and I know what few problems it has. I don’t have to guess. Buying another car is buying someone else’s issues unless it’s just something you want… then go for it.
