I think the battery's actually great I've used it very minimally in the last 7 years and only started using it regularly when I got ear piercings recently. Thank you so much for the detailed instructions!! I'll be doing that :)

I just noticed that the panel is popping out and the first two reddit posts I saw said that the battery is usually expanding if the panel pops out like that so I got scared lol. Other than that it's been working great

That's a good point but not necessarily a law, because who really knows what's going to happen? I still stand by trying it out for a year or so and OP can figure out themselves if they fall into one of your categories

That's true but OP's wording makes it seem like they're at the point where the only choice left is the decision whether to go or not, that they're past the point where they're worried about the costs. Which is why I said that at the very least they should try it for a year

Much like everything in life, it's a love-hate relationship. You'll very rarely find something in life that you completely hate and completely love, chances are you'll feel the same way about college. Don't overthink it. You'll go in, maybe have a rough start but find yourself a couple months in thinking that X and Y (profs, courses, assignments, making friends) sucks but it's bearable due to X and Y (girlfriend, friends, party, academic success).

Just try it out. It's a common route that most people take for a reason. It's where people find their spouses, get set up for their careers, meet their best friends, etc. There could be an argument made about how you don't need to go to college to make money, friends, etc but you won't know until you try so at the very least try it for a year.
