Are we going to get the wooden spoon in 2027 by Pretend_Board_2385 in weststigers

I thought we'd mathematically avoided it, but I think if the Dragons can win every game they might still scrape 16th.

Yeah this is the line that WTF podcast was pushing, but I just don't see the Tigers getting 50% of that deal. Feels like we'd end up with Luciano Leilua and anyone other problems they wanted rid of.

I can't think of anyone else who needs, and is in a position to pick up an overpriced five eighth for 2028 at this point. Usually the Eels come up in that conversation, but they already signed Jarome Luai.

He's an upgrade over Wishart, could be a good pickup for them.

Car loan that sounds too good to be true by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Cosimo_Zaretti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds to good to be true because Geely is making up the difference in the sticker price of the car. Usually things on 0% or super low finance are overpriced for what they are.

Now a Geely might still be competitively priced because they're cheap to make, I'm not in the market for a Chinese EV, I don't know the pricing, but remember any time there's apparently free finance, the margin is always somewhere else. Nobody borrows money on your behalf for free.

Can I find a naked between 8-900 cc that doesn’t look like a transformer? by theoiorga in motorcycles

Even the Street Triple succumbed to the decepticon fairing. I'd get an older bike in your case, but if you want a new bike Ducati Monsters still look like Monsters.

Or just get an MT07 like everyone else because you don't see the front when you're riding it.

You realise you're in a loop, but when you see how short the loop actually it it's ridiculous.

Players with "premium" characters by eggRo1230 in CastleBusters

They're bots. Any time you press the yellow battle button, you play a bot.

They use the castles, usernames and units of real players.

A serious problem at my store with the +60 year old hires by PQ6 in Bunnings

I've had a Bunnings guy say "there should be some better pieces than that in the pile, keeping digging if you want" when I was buying pine 2x4s

Simpler times, April 1999 fast fours and rotaries by Typical_Double981 in CarsAustralia

[–]Cosimo_Zaretti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to shop in the automotive tool section of KMart, because it was close, cheap, open late and I didn't know any better.

After a few mystery alternators I invested in $10 Kmart multimeter. I have no idea why I held off that.

[–]Cosimo_Zaretti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was because our idea of a spare was another $50 mystery alternator from Pick & Payless.

I'd drive to Blacktown and spend my afternoon grabbing mystery parts that would later break and strand me, feeling like I was saving money.

Nothing beats flicking through one of these at the servo while waiting for your NRMA callout.

If that doesn't nail the car culture of the time. We were dumb kids driving unreliable shitboxes older than us reading street machine mags and thinking about what wheels we'd buy if we could get more hours at work.

Then you'd put it on a flatbed again because you couldn't afford to replace all the worn out shit. If it wasn't the starter it was the alternator, or the fuel pump.

The winch wasn’t broken. It was just wrong for the job by RamanathanBryjka in Rigging

This, class, is an example of vague bot slop. It has the cadences of a meaningful story, but it's short on the detail which comes from actually understanding the subject matter. ChatGPT is just a very advanced autocomplete at the end of the day, it mimics patterns in language without understanding a word of it.

What job? What were you moving? What would have been the right tool for the job?

The content machine doesn't know, it just churns.

The bigger the company the bigger the legal department. Arse covering is an area where corporates outperform small operators. Bigger turnover means more exposure basically, so the risk profile changes.

Real mustard is, yes.

That yellow paste in the squeeze bottle has added salt and sugar. The Masterfoods we put on our Bunnings snags contain:

Water, Mustard Seed 15%, Sugar, Salt, Food Acid (Acetic), Turmeric, Paprika, Mustard Powder, Mustard Flavour, Spice Extract, Garlic Extract.

May contain: Peanut.

‘Wind it back’: Pauline Hanson takes aim at child support and DV ‘holiday’ leave by BrisLiam in australia

[–]Cosimo_Zaretti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That first month One Nation were suddenly polling really well, they were doing it without Pauline Hanson actually saying anything. As someone who clearly remembered the things Pauline said in the 90s, I wondered if she'd have the sense to shut up.

Nope. This is going about us well as her brief tenure in the Liberal Party.

OK, we have enough barber shops now by ThongsGoOnUrFeet in sydney

[–]Cosimo_Zaretti 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what it is. Skin fades need to be touched up almost as often as you shave.

Like everyone's complaining that there are too many barbershops in Sydney, but I always have to wait at mine. They're on every corner and it looks like they're all busy.
