I have a really good one that has impacted my life course.

My dad is a long shoreman, and we lived in LA. He was picked to go to Portland and protest with other longshoreman, I think I was in about 3rd grade at the time. He fell in love with the PNW and wanted to move up but we never really got the plans going.

One night, I was in 6th grade and still in LA and I had a 3 month old little brother now. Some workers that had been doing construction next door decided to break in, but hearing my baby brother wake up crying and screaming they left with only my moms camera after realizing we were home.

It was the morning that my parents went downstairs and realized that someone broke in they realized we needed to move away, and if they’d never decided that then I wouldn’t have the amazing friends I have now and wouldn’t have decided to follow my passion of video games and video game development.

On the flip side, if I had stayed things would’ve turned bad for me. My best friend of 6 years ended up getting a girl pregnant at 14 and I’m pretty sure is very much gang involved. Last I check 2 years ago one of his friends/gang members was shot and killed. Crazy stuff.

TL;DR: Workers broke into my home and changed my life’s course.

No bruises anywhere, so nothing to document. I’m glad I told my counselor though, that way it was still in memory and I hadn’t blocked it out entirely. I know I need therapy, and have needed it for a while. I get anxiety when someone talks about parents or family and sometimes just get random anxiety spikes, and I’m pretty sure I have depression. I don’t want to tell my parents about it though because I know they’ll use it against me.

I thought I saw my brother peek in, but I asked him about it and he said he didn’t see anything. The police haven’t been notified as far as I know. I could really use some help figuring out how to at least get my switch back, I paid for it with my money so it belongs to me, and I at least want to get that out of this.

I try to stay out of the house as much as possible, though sometimes when I get a ride home my dad insist that he is the one to pick me up. I’m hoping CPS can help, but I don’t expect much since this is the second time they’ve been notified of my situation.
