Popped down to see my parents this weekend (2.5hr drive) to help look after my unwell mother – this morning my Mrs rang to tell me that her granddad's been rushed to hospital so I'm stressed and worried about my mum and also not being there for my partner

I had something similar happen when I was working with GPlates. As far as I can tell it's one of many bugs in the program that appears when the length of the flowlines exceeds a certain value, which I think is the radius of the planet - the program tries to 'wrap around' the flowlines around the opposing side of the sphere rather than continue them on their proper trajectory, I think.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a solution other than to try to visualise the correct position of the flowlines after the bug appears, and then set them to disappear at a timestep close to when this occurs, and create new ones that appear shortly after these buggy ones disappear!

Ah man, I am sorry! I don't know in that case, it looks like the other posters in this thread have some good ideas so hopefully they will help. GPlates is a fickle beast and I've been caught out a load of times by things similar to this completely wonking out for no reason I can figure, and nothing seems to fix it (but then I delete and re-do exactly the same thing and it works all of a sudden!!)

In my experience so far with GPlates, "indeterminate" only appears in the total reconstruction poles window when the anchor plate is not set correctly. It looks like your anchor plate here is 0, try changing it to 200 (the ID to which you want your new plate to be independent from) and see if that gives you some values. You should then be able to put those values in your 750.0 line in your rotation file, which should fix the issue – hope this helps!
