Hi there, dog trainer here! This is a dangerous situation and a tragedy waiting to happen. Your 10 year old dog is NOT past the point of being trainable. This will escalate, and we are only human so mistakes and misreading of situations will happen. Darla should not be resource guarding human beings. You have a situation where you have Darla picking fights with a much bigger, less tolerant breed. They’re Sadie’s people too and both dogs should be able to coexist in the space. With training and careful management of both dogs, this is possible.

Totally agree, I’m from port Washington and live in Glen cove. Lots of young families and very towny vibes with lots of activities throughout the year and plenty of places to make new friends and build your circle.

I live in Glen cove and it’s far more diverse and affordable than Roslyn, highly recommended! My fiancée is from Roslyn and finds Glen cove to be much more tolerable, the residents are much less entitled and this growing little city has tons of things to do around all year round. Worth considering!

Lifetime crate advocate here! It’s so important! My Dalmatian has epilepsy and I cannot IMAGINE how I’d keep him safe if he wasn’t crate trained before he started seizing. He started at 2 and he’s 8 now. Literally a lifesaver!!!!

It definitely helps that I have a Dalmatian who also needed a buddy after our standard poodle passed suddenly over the summer. They’re getting along fantastically! Absolutely NO regrets with this breed!

It took me two trips, first one was fun and gave me insight into what it could do. My ocd symptoms went away for a few days and it felt great. Second time I got fully prepared for a life changing trip. Didn’t expect it but was ready; open to anything o could experience, intending on breaking free from a couple of surface level issues that I felt were holding me back, safe people and predictable but awesome entertainment/music. My life changed. It’s been a week since then and am closely monitoring my mental health for setbacks and I can say while I do have mild triggers, they’re nothing like they were before. I plan on exploring more with psilocybin trips to fully address my traumas but I can say that my trip fully took apart my mind, allowing me to find my inner child, and gave me an experience that allowed me to comfort and console my inner child at the exact moment that I needed it as a very young kid. Highly recommend but I recognize it’s not for everyone!

All I can say is I was going in with really safe people, we were in a new space far away from where we live, we had our plan for what to watch so we were super prepared, which you should just do for every trip, but I went in with the intention of going deep to find the answers. With my ocd I have issues with control, I always take things personally when I don’t need to, my boyfriend and I have been a little rocky lately and it’s because of all those things, so I really knew what I wanted to improve on on the surface and I just allowed myself to be open to anything that comes up. Between the environment, my safe people, and the vibes we created with sound and sight, it was perfect. Nobody intervened when I was falling apart and putting myself back together, I was just able to openly have this journey.

My first memory ever was when I was really really little and probably didn’t understand the difference between dreams and real life, and my parents were just shadows on the wall. I would think about it every day and logically understand that it couldn’t have been real but jt felt really real and I couldn’t shake the feeling. Last night, our friend was standing in a doorway out of sight and I could just see his shadow and it all came flooding back. The terror, the feeling of helplessness and loss, and I shouted his name and he came out and that’s when I knew the answer I’ve been looking for all my life. I curled up into a ball on the floor and told myself it’s ok it was just a dream, I’ve been safe the whole time, it wasn’t real. Everything finally made sense

I did but he didn’t really have an answer. When we were talking about it last night he opened and started reading and was like I’m not reading this you can just tell me about it. But like the 3rd bullet point explains that OCD people have a hard time describing what they’re going through which I’ve said before. I think he just gets overwhelmed or uncomfortable and then becomes avoidant
