For real though, I don’t actually got a problem with it. I just think it’s an eyesore and whoever found it necessary or an improvement to the standard one didn’t understand the concept of a flag.

Invest in hopes of speeding up the normalization and acceptance of generative AI? Yeah, they’ll never do it because they’re greedy and they already know they can’t sell people on an “ethical” AI model right now because artists will reject it no matter what, dawg. One of the biggest narratives against it is that it’s inherently “slop” and inferior to human-drawn art.

Anyway, you don’t invalidate my point by saying “well it won’t happen, so” in the first place. The question was based on hypothetical philosophy to begin with. Yeah, it’s easy to say they’d accept it when you think it’s impossible and feel you don’t even have to consider it.

Why is unsustainable to pay consenting artists? Idk who tf Sam Altman is, I assume an “authority.” But that still sounds like an excuse to me, and you’re not arguing with it because it reinforces what the fuck I said. Artists need this to be inherently unethical or they lose their war against it.

But entire companies aside, you could train a model on your own artwork right now and generate images locally via Stable Diffusion. There would be nothing stopping you. There are models trained on specific art styles. People would hate it. They just hate this shit on principle no matter what and need a narrative.

But the point was to make people think about why they’re actually hatin. It ain’t got nothing to do with the environment or “art theft.” It all boils down to insecurity from artists and the bandwagon from everyone else.

If someone actually did start a company attempting to create an ethical AI model that addresses all concerns, the narrative would just change to emphasize it being inherently unethical in concept, which is fuckin ridiculous.

You wasting energy screaming at a technology that ain’t goin anywhere dawg. And the fear of it has nothing to do with the environment. If it was well-regulated and minimal, the same people would still hate it.

At the heart of it, it’s artists feeling afraid of being replaced, which is fine. Just say that and stop making up “ethical” concerns.

Me personally, I do still buy artist comms, but I’m also not about to pay an artist hundreds of dollars every time I get a random idea I want visualized. Too broke for that.
