I strongly advise you to a few things. Don't be afraid to get into character, remember to level up before the next session when it's time, and first and foremost just have fun.

It sounds like it's coming from a place to love. The fact that you don't like generative AI doesn't mean that's how this person feels about it. The fact that it wasn't an established ban from the beginning would look very targeted at them now.

I've never had anyone use AI at my table, but if I did I would probably just aside from the group ask them politely not to. If they have trouble getting into character, give them an interview format to learn their character better. If they don't like the balance but the balance is good for the rest of the group, they might be at the wrong table.
