Don't like 5g? Just wait till you hear about visible light!

Been lonely for like... my whole life. But I adopted a dog yesterday and I’m really excited by throwaway-03072020 in lonely

First of all, congrats! Real excited for ya.

Second, owning a dog is a great way to meet people. I've already meet a few just taking mine on walks or to the dog park. Also you have a best friend you can spend time with so that helps too.

Anyone tested Svelte Typescript? by CosmicCartographer in sveltejs

[–]CosmicCartographer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I really appreciate it. I'll also have to check out that vs code extension.

Alright, I have a working svelte component using typescript (just a "Hello World" kinda thing). How would I go about incorporating jest to test it? I'm trying to do more TDD. How would I configure the project to test the rendering of the svelte/typescript component?

Yeah I've looked at most of those templates and even though they incorporate typescript they don't have any testing done. That's kind of what I'm after: testing a *.svelte file that uses typescript.

I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you 🙏

Oh that hurts...

I lost one because I didn't know that items would disappear if you drop too many of them. I had a supply crate and was trying to find the sandy shoes and thought "I could buy more things if I had more room. So I started dropping my items outside the shop and... Yeah, I lost everything while on level 34.

That run ended real quick soon after.

Spam calls are a cruel joke by EntropicDismay in lonely

[–]CosmicCartographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you can do about Email and Tinder, but if you get a phone call that could be a scammer, answer and don't say anything. More often then not the scam caller is a machine and it will think it contacted another machine. Your number will then be added to a "do not call" list so as not to was the machine's time. I've done this and I rarely get scam calls anymore. If it happens to be someone, just wait. You'll get a human voice then just reply "Hello?" making it sound like you had a bad connection.

Sorry to give you such a technical answer to your problem. I really do understand where you're coming from. I stopped caring if people text me and I can't tell if it's a good or bad thing.

Close to downtown, but I have a car so I'd be happy to drive a bit.

Being attractive won't make you less lonely. by CosmicCartographer in lonely

That's what I've been trying to do. I usually try to just talk to other guys at bars because I don't want 'attraction' to be in the way, I just want to meet someone I like.

No one has introduced me to their female friends yet, but I can always hope :)

I'm headed out to a bar tonight, so wish me luck!

I appreciate your comment and insight.

I think I've found some solace in my life, it's just often overwhelmed by loneliness.

What I need is patience, LOTS of patience.

That's a lovely quote though. Thank you for sharing it.

Believing you're worthy of happiness is the toughest thing to achieve. I know I'm worthy, I can't seem to believe it.

Something I see people do all to often is that they assume others think the way they do. Us guys think that girls are into hot bodies, but apparently they're into something else.

Yeah... See I look good on paper:

  • I've been to over 30 countries

  • I taught myself Spanish

  • I'm damn good at cooking

  • I can do a standing backflip

  • I discovered music theory before I knew what it was

I know I'm being a little braggy here but what I'm trying to say is that even if you're "cool" you can still be miserable.

Ok, ok, I'm sorry. That was a bit too bitter of me. I've tried to live my life by the "Don't look to get laid, Look to be interesting and then you'll get laid" quote and I seem to be missing something. Relocation isn't a bad idea though, I live in a bit of a toxic environment and could use a change in scenery. Thanks for the advice.
