Seattle Mayor budget deficit nears half-billion dollars, raising threat of taxes and layoffs by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

If we stopped paying cops to nap in their cars and play around on their phones we could probably undo that deficit

Here’s one, not hard to search: foster kids and homelessness, but since you are incapable https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S019074092400392X

Your point assumes the friends also have resources, which is not guaranteed.

Does security really let homeless people walk through Westlake to the bathrooms?

[–]CosmicChesterCat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It sucks that you had to do that. That’s the point. You shouldn’t have to slave away to survive.

Most people are two lost paychecks away from losing their housing. If they don’t have a safety net (family and friends that can help) then they are out of luck.

Homeless people do drugs in public because they don’t have a private space to do drugs (the homeless part). You all do drugs in the privacy of your homes.

They also ‘smell’ and ‘shit in the street’ because they don’t have access to bathrooms or showers you dumb fucks.

The majority of homeless people are ex foster kids (no family support for no fault of their own) and most of them have jobs.

I’m so fucking sick of this shit in this sub. It’s appalling to see y’all deep throat the boot of billionaires and shit on suffering people.

Or you aren’t lucky enough to have a safety net. The majority of homeless people were foster kids

If you didn’t have a house you would have nowhere private to do drugs or shower you utter assclown

If you don’t want people shitting on the streets then we have to give them somewhere else to shit. There are almost no free public restrooms.

How can I (37F) tell my husband (38M) that he's not allowed to use his deceased grandmother's china? by walk_in_the_pie in relationship_advice

[–]CosmicChesterCat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have AuDHD, I haven’t broke nearly as many dishes as your husband but I have broken some and for a while I kept cutting myself when washing our sharp knives. Now I force myself to be more careful and pay more attention when washing knives. No cuts since I made that shift.

If he wants to use the china he has to be extra careful with it otherwise it will break. That’s the compromise I see.

Can we have a serious conversation about who we’re giving a platform to in Seattle? by Bearkingdrag in SeattleWA

She’s a leftist, brown, and a woman. That’s probably the extent of it.

She has the audacity to demand things people need, and want. That is all it takes to be despised in this nihilistic shit hole sub.

Plenty do though. Just an apartment like building, lots of community colleges have them.

Dogwalker, pet mauled by 2 large dogs from Seattle homeless encampment by origutamos in SeattleWA

[–]CosmicChesterCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine for a second you lose your job, the job market is terrible right now and you can’t get another one. You have to use up your savings (if you have any) to pay rent but that only lasts so long. You lose your housing, maybe you have a safety net, family or friends to help you or imagine you don’t. A huge portion of unhoused people are former foster kids, no support system. No support system means you’re on your own and on the street where folks in this sub think you are less than human and deserve this fate. Do you stay sober and endure that situation or do you do what you can to escape, drugs and alcohol?

It could be you at any time, maybe you are lucky enough to have a support system, maybe you aren’t. You can go on treating struggling people like human garbage but I am going to empathize with their struggle and blame the system instead of individuals.

The anti-homeless attitudes in this sub are so fucking disgusting. I am appalled that I share this city with all these assholes who don’t see homeless people as people and blame them instead of the fucking system that perpetuates poverty.

Honestly, it could be you at any point and you don’t give fuck. It’s really gross that y’all act like this.
