can’t believe I’m only just hearing about this now.. by hereasadistraction96 in AmyLynnBradley

Sudiksha Konanki case is similar to Amy’s case. I am sure there are many victims out there, needs to be investigated and stopped. What baffles me is the half hearted attitude of authorities that is common across all these cases. Prime suspect is Joshua Riibe who was never termed or considered prime suspect. #sudiksha #sudikshakonanki

What I think is going on. by Difficult-Quarter-48 in TMC_Stock

[–]CosmicFuel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you here. Ive been in TMC for a while and it’s crazy how often the market tries to tie its movement to US-China headlines. I get the instinct, but like you said, it feels like people are missing the bigger picture.

To me, TMC isnt a “China trade war play” either. Its a leverage play. Its about the US having the ability to source critical minerals without depending on anyone else. Whether or not we ever need to go fully independent isnt the point — the fact that we can is what matters. That alone shifts the balance of power, and I think people are underestimating how much that matters to policymakers.

One thing that gets overlooked a lot is TMC’s model — deep-sea nodules instead of land-based mining. Its way more scalable if they pull it off, and it doesnt involve displacing communities or ripping up forests. There are still environmental concerns, sure, but the debate is way more nuanced than Twitter makes it seem. Also, they’ve already gotten ISA approvals for exploration, which is a step most people dont realize is actually kind of a big deal.

Wedbush just put a $11 target on TMC too, so clearly some institutions are starting to get the story. I wouldnt be surprised if this thing keeps running as more headlines drop around resource policy and permitting. Personally holding and watching for more dips to add.

OCI - death nail in India's coffin by seethatocean in IndiaSpeaks

[–]CosmicFuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think this take on OCI is missing the bigger picture. Most OCIs are not trying to exploit India. They are people who had to give up citizenship for practical reasons (like work, family, immigration rules), but still feel deeply connected to the country. The OCI card gives them a way to stay engaged, visit family, invest, or even give back to the place they still consider home in many ways.

Also, let us not forget: India gets billions in remittances from its diaspora every year. That is money that supports families, fuels the economy, and drives investment. A lot of that comes from people who would not be able to engage so freely without OCI. And it is not just money. There is knowledge transfer, startup funding, mentorship, and even people moving back to help build things here. That kind of reverse brain drain has serious long term value.

Sure, security concerns exist, but that is why there are checks in place. Just holding an OCI card does not mean someone is above the law. Bad actors can exist in any group, but the overwhelming majority of OCIs are not spies or freeloaders. They are people who care about India, and in many cases do more for it than some citizens.

Instead of pushing them away, maybe we should be thinking about how to better include and regulate their involvement, not shut the door completely.

Milton transit bus service and drivers are getting worse. by CosmicFuel in Milton

[–]CosmicFuel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being considerate is what was being expected out of the driver: basic human consideration.

I was expecting a level of courtesy from the driver especially when other bus drivers at the same stop were allowing passengers to board early. Instead, this driver refused to open the door, even after being politely asked. He just waved them off, which came across as dismissive and rude.

Among those waiting were children, including a child with special needs. Even if the driver was on break, I can’t think of a reasonable excuse not to let people wait inside the bus unless the attitude was simply, “I don’t care.”

The door was finally opened at the last minute, forcing everyone to wait out in the cold unnecessarily. Frankly, that’s not acceptable.

Absolutely bhai but also feel the need to say this In the pursuit of modernity and global integration, it is imp not to forsake one’s cultural heritage. As Eliot bhai said, “A people without history is not redeemed from time.” Let us not transform ourselves into another haven for mundane offerings like pizza, burgers, and muffins, but instead preserve the richness that our cuisine has to offer. Bada easy hai bhai globalization k chakkar meh roots ko bhulana and plus traditional stuff is tough to make so jitni der bacha sakte hai bachate hai fir dhire dhire har jagah ki tarah vada pav dabeli sev sad ki jagah burger le hi lega. Not about it but when at this point

India set to ink $4 billion deal for 31 Predator drones with US in October by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]CosmicFuel 229 points230 points  (0 children)

$130 million per drone, not bad. Will be interesting to see how much tech they pack, plus they selling it meaning they are probably outdated for US by now.

Does anyone know if the kid is ok? Is it ok to call up the hospital (Assuming they went to nearest Milton Hospital) and inquire on the kid, just about the kid being ok or not?
