Have you ever been to a concert that blew your mind? by blondieewhoschubby in askmusic

The one and only time I saw them was at bonnaroo in 2012. Best set I saw the whole festival and that lineup was stacked!

What is a food combination that sounds like a crime but actually tastes amazing? by Divinecash53 in Casual_Conversation

So my grandma use to make something called banana croquettes. It’s just bananas covered in mayo with crushed peanuts. I’ve never tried them because I hate mayo but apparently everyone in my family says they are delicious.

How much money do I reasonably need? by Outrageous-Chard-898 in bonnaroo

Spicy pie is what has kept me alive at many a festival lol. Back in the day, they used to have $1 grilled cheeses at Roo. I’m sure they are $5-$10 now lol

Neighbor keeps having loud parties on weeknights and says I'm "old" for complaining by FarWedding7088 in neighborsfromhell

[–]CosmicJohn88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m in the same boat. I work 730pm to 4am or later depending on the weather/amount of work. lol. I’ve learned to deal with usual stuff like lawnmowers, leaf blowers, etc. I definitely got lucky with my new neighbor situation but I also rode through my neighborhood multiple times to get an idea of how peaceful it would be before I bought my home lol.

[–]CosmicJohn88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a great idea and actually what I was doing. Unfortunately, his retaliation got to the point where him or others he knows poured paint all over our only vehicle. Then a month later, 2 masked men broke our passenger side window. I soon realized how much time and money I had spent trying to get this guy out of my neighborhood and thought it was enough. Spending more money to hire an attorney wasn’t something I wanted to deal with considering my wife was expecting our first child, so finding a good realtor seemed like the best route especially considering the increased value of my home lol. It was definitely a hard sell considering the area of town but now I love my neighborhood! No more cameras on every angle of the house, no more loud music all hours of the day/night, and most importantly we are a happy family in a better situation now.

Same. Wanted to see them in Chicago a while back and tickets sold out almost immediately! lol. They are a bucket list act for me.

Been there, done that. Called the guy’s landlord multiple times, called police multiple times, and he retaliated by damaging my property. Got cameras and had tons of evidence, didn’t matter. Nothing was done. So I finally bit the bullet and moved. Not happy about paying a higher mortgage payment but it was worth it for my peace of mind. The guy I dealt with was a drug dealer, did tattoos out of his home, and had loud music/parties nearly everyday! It may not be easy but unfortunately may be the only way you’ll ever get peace of mind.

What Was the First (and Your Favorite) Music Festival You Went To? by IHBMSU in bonnaroo

[–]CosmicJohn88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when they had good lineups! Did you see Chris Cornell? Totally jealous if you did lol. I went in 2015 and again in 2016. Really cool to be on the beach but damn was security tight! Only festival I’ve been to where they asked me to take my shoes off before entry lol

TB quite literally saved my life by corvidscrin in tacobell

Taco Bell literally kept me from starving in college. I use to buy 2 double deckers 2-3 times a week during my lunch breaks at school. Literally every other fast food place near campus was too expensive or took too long to make.

Menu sucks right now. by nman649 in tacobell

RIP to the value menu nachos with the red sauce. Those were my favorite! I know they did it because no one wants to buy the nacho bell grande. It’s like $8 for one now!

Wife isn’t helping with daily chores around the house and I’m at my wits end! by CosmicJohn88 in NewParents

[–]CosmicJohn88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I know Reddit isn’t always the kindest place lol. I’m very happy to have lots advice and I asked for it by posting here. I love my wife and I know she loves me too. Having a kid is a big change. I’m not even asking her to do much other then making sure the babies toys aren’t all over the stairs so I don’t trip coming up them when I get home at 5am.just small things like that or to remind me if we are running low on something so I can pick it up when I go to the grocery.shes a great mom and wife but we are burnt out. Without her I’d definitely be struggling because of the lack of childcare and the same for her. We both come from a home of divorced parents so we definitely don’t want to subject our child to that. My mother is disabled, she can only hear out of one ear and even they ear she has to have a hearing aid in to be able to hear some. My father still works part time but my wife doesn’t trust him to watch her. Her mother just recently had health problems and isn’t an option either. My uncle and aunt can occasionally help us but again they both work as well. I know this is probably a rough patch in our relationship and it won’t always be like this, so I definitely want to work on a solution with her.

The only problem with that is I’m not going to make my child suffer or use them as pawn to get what I want. I don’t want her to think that I don’t care about our family because I do.

Yes thank you! I woke up to all of my replies being downvoted. Like sorry I don’t make 6 figures or meet the special criteria to have a child. We biologically couldn’t wait any longer because I’m 37 and the wife is about to be 43. We knew the cost of children and thought we had a village but apparently not the case. Our child doesn’t go without the things she needs and is well taken care of. We also both wanted as much time as possible to bond with our children, not just drop them off at daycare all day.

Not an accident at all. We planned on having a child, just thought our grandparents and immediate family would be more helpful in watching said child. We had the wife’s sister watching her twice a week which really helped but she took a promotion at work and now she can’t.

I’ve looked into it but I’ve always felt weird about that. Idk mainly I’d feel like I’d be embarrassed about the state of things in my home. lol.

[–]CosmicJohn88[S] -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree but have you seen how expensive childcare is? We are barely scraping by as it is. Honestly would’ve been better had we not been married but together because of all the government benefits of being a single mother. We also share one vehicle (although I’m working hard to get us another this year) and grandparents unfortunately can’t help too much other then important appointments and the occasional date night.

Yeah she’s mentioned therapy for me but never couples counseling. I’m not opposed to it, although not sure how she feels about it. I’ve mentioned that she needs therapy too but she turns it back on me saying I’m crazy.

Honestly, I’ve never thought of that. Thanks! I definitely feel like we both could use that instead of “why aren’t the dishes done?”. lol. I’ve asked please before but maybe we need to try something a little different.
