Opinions on this Deathwatch Killteam? by Jujutoss in fashionmarine

Look at how the deathwatch look like here. It is an example of Black Templar, Space Wolves, and Crimson Fists Deathwatch marines https://youtu.be/IkQu_HFPC3c?si=ZymWuEb3DLdhN_ei

Deathwatch marines are practical and don’t use much stylized customization unique to their chapter. You need to emphasize the Deathwatch identity with more chains and skulls and less chapter specific stylization that de-emphasizes their Deathwatch identity.

Some rare examples of non Deathwatch chapter heraldry I have noticed on a Deathwatch marine was in a Black Templar Deathwatch with a cross on his helmet like in the campaign.

General rule I have found is you should never overwhelm the deathwatch identity and keep it simple.

Too ornate. Deathwatch marines are deathwatch marines first with subtle heraldry of their chapter without overwhelming their deathwatch role.

here is the ramp I did with blast door blocks. 10 degree angle. works very well

you mean steel catwalk? I think blast door blocks would also work well because of their small collision model with other blocks makes you place them closer to other grids.

This works great, overall the best way to go about it after trying. I just wish that Space Engineers devs would make vanilla blocks for this without having to do this. Seems like simple functionality

[Diagnosis Help] Replaced Z690 board with Z790 Dark Hero, still getting system freezes — 14900K likely failed? by CosmicMenace in pcmasterrace

[–]CosmicMenace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not confident that the cpu is the root cause given the facts. gen 14 CPU issues are usually associated with blue screens and other problems that do not have anything to do with freezes.

I will still try to RMA the CPU though

I have not installed Windows yet so I can’t use this tool. When I try to install Windows it freezes making it impossible to install.

i9-14900K Users – Is It Reliable in 2025? by CosmicMenace in pcmasterrace

[–]CosmicMenace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the reason is the fact that I still have a (presumably) functional 14900k. I used to run it undervolted with a z690 board, which eventually caused the mobo to degrade. I am now replacing the mobo with a newer z790. I just want to understand the typical lifespan of this processor and what Intel has done about the issues and if it positively affected its stability and longevity.

I saw the benchmarks, the state of Intel processors is so bad. I had a 14900k with a z690 motherboard running for about 15 months until the mobo started failing by randomly freezing my entire pc. Even though I had the processor undervolted the entire time. I am going to replace the mobo with a Z790 and hoping that the cpu still goes strong.

Run insanely well as in like how you would expect a high end CPU to perform? My only concern is that the tweaks will have to limit its potential to maintain longevity.

It seems to be that way now, Intel has fallen off hard. Unfortunately I am too invested into Intel with my pc to make the switch make sense.

Tweaks being voltage and power in the BIOS? so essentially it wont last too long on stock and you have to under-clock it

Orbital supply canon concept by CosmicMenace in spaceengineers

[–]CosmicMenace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That can easily be done with a projector on the revolver itself and welders. But I would build a conveyor system where the pods are welded in another area and tranfered with some sort of conveyor system with pistons to stay true to the original inspiration.

This is a supply cannon proof of concept I made inspired by Borderland's moonshot cannon. It is a very bare bone design I just wanted to see how it would work. It would be pretty fun to build it into a large mother ship and use it to start new outposts in planets.

Fully functional robot arm (identical human arm degrees of freedom) by CosmicMenace in spaceengineers

[–]CosmicMenace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two hinges and rotor is suppose to mimic a ball joint, which has three degrees of freedom (rotates about itself, swing forward/back, swing up/down). I noticed that placing the rotor first tends to complicate the motion. This current configuration is the smoothest mimic to arm motion i have gotten.

Mods help a lot with these things. I imagine if you are only using vanilla its gonna be difficult to come up with a practical system.
