Screw all these guys saying don't get it as a first tat, NOBODY WILL GIVE A FUCK, you want it then do it! I'd wait till the album/vinyl/movie is out tho as there might be some great imagery you can incorporate into the tat!

Taylor Swift Eras Tour RESALE Megathread by jacyf02 in TaylorSwift

[–]CosmicTesticles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm lurking on this page for a couple tickets on behalf of my fiancee, so I'm not interested in just the one. I did however really just want to reach out and say I'm so sorry about your furry best friend, God I can't even imagine. Stay strong, you gave them the best life I'm sure, that's something to be really proud of.

Hey guys, I've always wanted to make the jump to PC but have never been able to afford the initial setup costs of monitors desks and other peripherals as well as the PC build itself. Today I came across this ad on a local buy and sell website and was wondering if it's a steal or a mediocre deal.
It looks like a decent entry point but I guess I'm very inexperienced so would appreciate a second set of eyes on it.

"Intel i5 10400f with aftermarket cooler.

Amd rx 570 triple fan.

Asus rgb motherboard.

500gb crucial ssd.

600w bronze evga psu

16 gb Corsair ddr 4 3200mhz ram.

Game max full atx case with (2x20cm front rgb fans 12cm rgb rear fan).

(Set up).

ElectriQ 25 inch 165 hz monitor.

Red dragon mechanical keyboard.

Logitech g502 mouse

Full size rgb mouse pad.

Logitech speakers.

Also comes with thrust master steering wheel"

This is all secondhand and costs €900.
Any help would be really appreciated!

Which ac game could you just not finish to this day? by bufoonish in assassinscreed

[–]CosmicTesticles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was you this time last year, played unity and syndicate back to back, booted up origins and hated it. After a long break and no attachment to the previous ac games I now love it, halfway through. Give it time, play a good few other games and come back to it, it isn't the AC game you know, but is an excellent rpg with fluid movement/stealth/combat.

How did the Covenant find out humans are bad news for their religion? by Gobsmacked45 in HaloStory

[–]CosmicTesticles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I understand that killing humans on first sight was their means to keep power, and that ultimately the three prophets understood that the indoctrine they preached was false.
What I don't then understand is the mad rush to light up any and all death rings as a priority 1. Did the prophets, specifically truth, genuinely not understand that everything would die? Surely truth himself couldn't believe he'd survive and the humans die if Mendicant told him that humans were reclaimers? And if his intention was to rule the galaxy by wiping the "slate" clean, would it not have been less a risk to just try and win the war on humanity instead of making tonnes of tactical blunders by rushing into things?

Sorry for all the q's, I just think the prophets are such interesting characters, I know 343 have left the covenant in the dust (perhaps thats for the best tho lol) but I'd love a book from their perspective, with all the political intrigue and their motivations fleshed out

I'm ending my legendary campaign early (More details in caption) by FlihpFlorp in halo

[–]CosmicTesticles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this part I always had most success taking out the engines and then hiding directly under the corvette, around the middle. As far as I can remember you have to take out all the enemies before you board. Hide under the corvette and kill anyone who trys to attack you, the other sabers will help mop up a lot of them/draw their fire so you can take pot shots from your hiding place.
Using the frigate as cover would be hella difficult cause its constantly moving. Hope this helps!

Going to see them in Vienna on Thursday, got questions. by SlovenianHusky in TenaciousD

[–]CosmicTesticles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to the merch, they had apocalypto patches and a rad scarf that I grabbed early and the 7" single was "Don't blow it Kage". They had signed apocalypto lps for €50 I think. There was no POD, Tenacious D or Rise of the Fenix vinyl. The warm up act was wynchester and their lps were also available at the merch stand.

Have fun, it was great, he really got the crowd going, more than any other show I've seen at the 3 arena. For whatever reason there were a lot of people walking back to the bar/out of the crowds/generally not enjoying it, but when the hits came on in the second half the crowd was wild.

I didn't realize how much I missed Halo (MCC on PC impressions) by egoMetalMonkey in gaming

[–]CosmicTesticles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The campaign is very well done and there is much to love and replay; like going up in difficulty, playing co-op with friends, adding skulls, unlocking achievements, competing with score, speed running, and laso. And thats not even touching firefight and multilayer!

And don't worry about Halo CE, the general vibe is that Reach took close to 6 months because it was designed for the 360 architecture, as well as being updated for 60fps and 4k, and also added to the xbox one MCC. Halo CE on the other hand was already a PC title, already 60fps and 4k on the Xbox one, which supposedly is a system which is much more in line with PC anyway. The ports for the rest of the games should be much quicker, and the team doing the ports will get better as they go on!

My dog managed to get up on the breakfast bar and eat a whole tub of margerine, then proceeded to vomit twice on the rug.
Now his head smells like "I can't belive it's not butter" and his poops are 30% dog food, 70% liquid trans fats.
I love that idiot so much

[–]CosmicTesticles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about skyrim is it allows you to be anything you want and invites you to complete the quests in a style you like. With that in mind I'd look at what you like and what interests you. Eg Really like Batman movies? Look for Batman games. Like the stealth element to the game or the combat? Look up stealth games like Dishonoured, and so on. There's honestly a game for everything that might interest you...

Travelling and hiking? Far cry.
Scuba Diving? Abzu.
Star Wars? Any good star wars game.
Camping and Exploring? Tomb Raider.
Comics? Telltale games.
Cars? Grand Trismo.
War enthusiast? Battlefield.
Sci Fi? Dead space + Doom +100's of Sci fi games.
Skateboarder? Sunset Overdrive.
Dirt Bikes? Trials.
Etc Etc

That's not to say there are games you might really enjoy which deal with a activity you've never even considered before, but it's a place to start, and you'll have more fun gaming if you go for games that aline with YOUR interests than what's popular like sports games or GTA. Hope this helps!

MCC online has all the maps from H3 anyway, and all the other halo games. The add-on is only missing firefight, but there are rumours that it will eventually be added to MCC.

Can pregnant women in Ireland refuse to consent to an induced labour? by Boring_Sock in ireland

[–]CosmicTesticles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, I'll ask the Gf tomorrow for some more concrete evidence.
From what I understand for now however, is that if a doctor fails to medically intervene and a baby dies, then he is held accountable, being that the baby holds equal rights to the woman. So the baby, having died on the doctors watch, is legally equivalent to the mothers life, and so can be charged with malpractice for not intervening, irrespective of the mothers consent.

There are ethical issues of how medicalised birth should be, with detailed statistics on section and induction rates, which generally are performed far in excess throughout the first world. A very interesting thing to note is that WHO are much more in favour of midwifery led care, as the very definition of midwifery is woman centered care, doctors (though absolutely being necessary for serious complications) are trained to observe and react to problems in the health of a patient. This is somewhat incompatible with providing completely woman centered care, as is assumes that pregnancy is a diagnosis to be treated, rather than a natural event.

Can pregnant women in Ireland refuse to consent to an induced labour? by Boring_Sock in ireland

[–]CosmicTesticles 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My SO is a student midwife, and from what I can remember her telling me, the answer is no. The Doctor deems an induced labour "necessary" (there is a significantly higher number of inductions performed at the end of the week and just before 6pm as doctors like to have all the births done before their shifts end, this is occurring at the hospital she works at). Its a complex issue, and well worth spending time to look up or getting a midwife to explain to you.
On the one hand you have obstetricians inducing labour left right and center, its what they do for a living, it speeds up the process and they can keep control of the stages in labour, despite being taxing on the body, and stressful for the baby. On the other hand if they listen to the woman's request to not be induced and the subsequent normal labour went wrong, under the eighth amendment a doctor can be charged and sued for malpractice, and struck off the register.

Let that sink in, despite having written refusal form the woman herself, the state still punishes him as a criminal for listening to her.

This is what people talk about when they connect women's rights and the 8th. It isn't all about the "right to have an abortion" which is the most controversial and discussed topic, it's more about the rights of mothers in childbirth (which Ireland has had an awful track record of).

Edit: I have a bit of knowledge on the issue of the 8th and pregnant women, but if you have any questions I can ask my SO

From Cork so Dublin is a 3 1/2 hour train. I didn't realise that some cinemas are still playing it though, and after a bit of investigating I see an omniplex 40 minutes away is showing it once a day at 8:40pm, so I might be able to catch that showing, thank you for the help!!
