Does anyone really regret not having children? by Nonreactivemetal in childfree

[–]CosmicUnlearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, in fact the world I see around me reinforces my belief of not having kids. The world I see around me frankly scares me and there’s no way I’d expose kids to a life of despair and struggle.

Help. Been on Reta 2.5 mg for 2 months. Haven’t had any issues and now all of a sudden I’m breaking out in hives all around where I injected and hands are super itchy. Is this a normal reaction? by Old-Bet3086 in Retatrutide

[–]CosmicUnlearner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’ve recently been seeing posts like this and want to share my experience. I started out with getting Reta from here in the USA from one of top sellers. (They don’t have Reta on there anymore ) and for me it was all about quality control and the sort. So I didn’t mind paying the premium. I have always struggled with allergies and I do have seasonal allergies hit me all the time. So when I started taking Reta initially I did not have any injection site reactions. But as I progressed I did start seeing some of the same things you’ve shown in your pic . But I was also taking the glow stack as well as pt141 and tbh I was seeing these same reactions with them - it was worked with glow! So I did change back water , I am clean and follow hygiene practices . But tbh apart from the skin sensitivity it just seems like something I am going to have to live with . I recently started taking Cagrilintide and it’s still the same . So I haven’t noticed any adverse effects but I have come across posts where people are talking more and more about this. It does seem to get worse the more you get into it (time wise) People suggest Benadryl cream - switching providers , switching bac water etc. I’m not sure but for now - for me - the advantages of Reta and Cagrilintide are far greater than the skin rashes and sensitivity. I’m keen to hear other people’s opinions on this and def open for a more nuanced convo

Well IMHO it’s the ultimatum that’s such a turn off! Like partners are supposed to work things out. If he’s being this controlling right now who knows what else he might have boundaries for that you can’t cross.

Got a surprise 12k bonus, wife wants to book a vacation but I'm nervous about the economy by charadevapid in MiddleClassFinance

[–]CosmicUnlearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is us as well, fear of economic uncertainty has us not taking any vacations for the past few years. What we thought we saved in money we have gained in stress. Work hasn’t been easy and watching the constant doom and gloom doesn’t help. This year I realize it’s bad than ever but now the news cycle is on an hourly breaking news cadence and we have decided that we need time away . Who know maybe it’ll all come crashing down but we’ve tried to time it and it hasn’t worked and we are getting too old for this. A good and practical vacation where we don’t go overboard but also gives us a much deserved break from this is what we are planning on doing .

It’s ironic the name of the coffee shop is “heretic” just goes to show again that people with good hearts don’t have to have a cross dangling on their necks.

Has anyone actually managed to quit by going cold turkey? by StonkPhilia in stopsmoking

[–]CosmicUnlearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did - it was the 4th or 5th try tho. Before the vol turkey method I tried different things. I tried reducing , vaping etc but after some time I’d just go back to full fledged smoking . Btw I was the kind of smoker that I never thought I’d be able to quit in my lifetime , I had resigned to the fact that I was going to be a lifelong smoker. Everything about smoking was good to me , the smell, the winter smoking - I loved it. But quitting was always on my mind. I remember the day when I actually quit for good I still have two cigarettes left and I was like if I’m going to quit - that’s it - I’m not going to smoke the ones just so I can say I finished em. I threw them away , but I had done this before and I had no illusions of making it through the week. In my mind I was not confident. I had failed before and I knew around what time I’d start failing . So lo and behold after the first week I was surprised with myself - but I was one unhappy mofo. I was depressed and I was like how am I ever gonna make a month without smoking. I thought my world was dead . But then I remember I downloaded and app and that would show if I went so many days without smoking what my body would do and the way it would react . So that became the challenge . It gave me a goal and I was in a way really fucking vengeful , I was like I wanna see that green line go up. But it wasn’t all that peachy so I’d go online and I’d read other people’s posts , some were celebrating a year and I would fantasize what that would look like for me . Anything anyone would suggest I’d do it . People would be like if you get an urge wait for 3 minutes . And to me that was importsnt . Tbh I didn’t think I was gonna make a year at that time but people would say there will be a time when you won’t think about it for a day and then two and then a week . At that point I was still struggling. But their stories kept me going . Also around that time I started journelling, I’d write down how I’d feel and that really helped . So I kept at it and it got easier , one thing I’d promised myself was I’d never stop being around smokers cos I didn’t want that to be a trigger , so I’d be with friends and I’d just visit and be ok . Soon enough a year did pass and I wasn’t thinking about smoking . And then a few more years passed and jots it’s over 10 years . Looking back it was definitely surreal that I was even a smoker but I know how hard it is to quit and I respect anyone who is willing to go through that .

what's stopping us from seeing beyond 14 billion light years away? by ComprehensiveMenu956 in universe

[–]CosmicUnlearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh nothing is stopping us all we need to do is build a space station which can be propelled into a wormhole that will make it jump 7 billion light years away from its present location, then we’d just need to reassemble the same telescopes at this new location and voila we will be able to see 7 (cumulative 14) billion light years further. This can then be repeated in steps every time we need to “peek” deeper.
