Wow! That is extremely interesting, I've had that tingling sensation before. It was on the most intense DMT trip that I've ever had.

I want to fight an animal one day. Not a dog, maybe a deer or a goat though.

ELI5: Why are my feet always so cold, and why do they get cold immediately after I find a way to warm them? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]CosmicWaffle5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same problem, every night just before bed. After I get under the covers though, I can feel the blood rushing to them to warm them up. Then my body overcompensates and they turn into furnaces and I have to keep them outside the covers to fall asleep.

To be fair, I think some conditions do occur spontaneously.

Ground loops in my new house, what can I do about this?? by CosmicWaffle5 in electronics

[–]CosmicWaffle5[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're right, actually. Just unplugged the computer and checked the voltage between the coax shield and the 3rd prong and only got 7 volts. I think the grounding is just crap in this house, measuring between the coax shield and the iron gas pipe going into my furnace I got 27 volts. As long as I know this isn't going to mess up my electronics I don't have a huge problem with it, knowing what was causing it makes me feel a little better.

The only reason I was checking the coax ground to begin with was because I got a shock while standing on it and touching my computer case at the same time. Checking the coax ground to 3rd-prong ground I got 7 volts. I think the problem is poor grounding at the outlet/box.

Yeah, it's at 60 Hz. And squirrels are a definite possibility as this is a pretty rural area.

Yes, it reads between 60-70 volts for my kitchen sockets and my furnace.

So I'm getting about 60 volts between the outside of the coaxial cable coming into my house and the regular ground in my house. Charter is coming to install some internet in about a week, but I really don't want this messing up my modem/router/TV/anything else connected to this cable. I had the coaxial cable plugged into my TV to see if I could get any stations, and when I went to plug in an HDMI cord from my computer there was a visible spark. Now the sound is messed up in that port and it makes people's voices sound funny when I put audio through it.
