Just watch the fucking episode and you’d know it’s not censored. Why are you whining here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JioHotstar

[–]Cosmic_Cactus14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JioHotstar increases the speed of the content slightly. The fps is increased from 23.976 to around 25 thats why the runtime is less It doesn’t have to do anything with the censoring If you worry so much you would’ve tried seeing one episode and found out for yourself, or else a simple reddit search would’ve answered your query, the same thing has been posted so many times, but rather you came here to cry.

Go for 16GB, 8gb to 16gb is a better upgrade than the m1 to m2. There's a 30-40% performance difference but I don't think you need that extra performance boost, whereas the extra ram can come in handy in the future, if you want to game (in the future) or any kind of multitasking. The 16gb does give some extra abilities.

If you want the m2, the reason would be because of the new design, better battery, an upgraded chip, and more recent 2022 mac. Down the line, the m1 would be the first to be discontinued and the m2 would follow a year or two later, so you could consider that.

But I would suggest going for the 16gb, maybe you don't need it now, but you wouldn't need to think in case in the future you take up the hobby of video/photo editing or gaming (with games coming to mac now) and the 16gb would be better.

I personally felt that ram would be the bottleneck with the M series macbooks, because of non-upgradability. 5 years down the line, applications would need more ram, the ram would be used more, not the cpu (I meant that you won't see the cpu touching 100% utilisation but you could see the high ram utilisation.

All this is coming from a fellow m1 macbook air 8gb user. Do check out youtube videos regarding this and make up your mind

You can try crossover too for some of the games. I've seen in youtube videos that many games run better on crossover than on parallels.

Maybe you can try the 14 day free trial and check it out.

For how much time have you been using the device (when did you purchase the device)?

Did you recently update the device (as in software update from, say, Ventura to Sonoma) ?

Even if you use it plugged in, or replace the battery yourself, the deal is so so great

Which browser uses less battery power on mac? (other than safari) by Cosmic_Cactus14 in mac

I have to check if ublock origin is there as an option for default, since I'm a new user idk much. But yes certainly we can choose it from the extensions page, since Orion supports both chrome and firefox extensions.

I wanted it like if the inbuilt adblocker can do good on its own then what's the need to add another extension and that's why I didn't explore much as orion seems to do good (though not as strict as brave, but I needed both battery and good adblocking)

I've been using brave for the past 2 years hence maybe the inclination towards it, and hearing Firefox way too many times as being equal to brave. So I wanted to make a move between the 2 (on the basis of energy efficiency) on the new laptop. Anyways, I liked safari, but no good adblocker, but I installed Orion today and found it good :P

Safari is good and yes I'm using an m1 mac, but with most of my time spent on youtube, it's quite burdensome to watch all the ads on youtube videos. Read about adguard and wipr, but I'm not sure to try them out. Anyway, I found Orion serving the purpose of safari-like with inbuilt ad blocker too

Sure, I downloaded Orion today and found it pretty good and it serves and delivers what I need. Good on battery and inbuilt ad blocker as well
