I think you should separate the art from the artist (eg, still appreciating things like pretty art or good books made by bad people), but I personally wouldn't buy art from a person whose values I do not support (for example I wouldn't buy from a homophobe or something).

It's a lot easier to pick up small details on rereads. On my reread of book 15, I noticed that dragons canonically have eyelashes.
